Any word on wireless charging kit?

I picked up a wireless charging kit at my Verizon store today, so they're available. Maybe not everywhere, but at least some stores.

I picked one up today too. They are no longer advertised on Verizon's website though, only available in stores.

However, I found out why Verizon is the only one selling these. The Verizon S3 is slightly different than every other S3 in the world. There are 4 gold contact points on the Verizon version and only 2 on every other S3. The two contacts on the side are for charging and the 2 on the bottom are for an NFC antenna/chip in the cover itself. If you try to use this on an at&t S3, your NFC will not function, since the 2 connection points on the bottom for the extra NFC antenna aren't there, and the NFC chip in the battery can not penetrate the wireless charging coil.

So you can either have wireless charging and no nfc or nfc and no wireless charging, unless you have a Verizon S3. And by the way, these are official Samsung products. There is a samsung logo, part number and serial number inside each one.

Best bet for most S3 owners is to wait for Samsung to come out with their wireless charging system, or make your own from a palm pre or pixi and a touchstone. NFC will still been issue with a diy version though.

This is not a Samsung product.

Dunno why they don't have the back cover listed anymore.
