How can I get a SGN2 Unlocked with 4G LTE?

Hi everyone...I following the release of the note 2 with great anticipation.

I live in the US but travel a lot in canada and europe. I would like to get an unlocked version of the phone...but i'm concerned that the ones available in europe right now aren't 4G LTE capable.

Should I wait for the US version to come out and then try to see if I can unlock it myself?

Or wait until an unlocked version comes out in europe that's 4G capable? I understand that could take about a year, right?

Any ideas? Suggestions?

If you can afford it, why not purchase a US one Sim Free? Which will be unlocked. It's out there in the US on Oct 24th. The international version for the UK I know is not 4G LTE. Because we barely have 4G here as you say it won't be fully rolled out here for about a year.

I'd say wait till Oct 24th for your Note 2 release. Check it will work with Canadian and European 4G networks (I'm not too clear on the technical details of using a US handset abroad on 4G) and then you should be all good.

Others here will know more but that's what I think anyway. :thumb:

I thought the US versions were only being released through the carriers. I wasn't aware that there would be an unlocked US version...I certainly hope so though! Can anyone else confirm?

I think your best bet is to wait for T-Mobiles version. Buy the phone outright and then unlock.

According to the FCC filings T-mobiles version will have all the bands needed for LTE in USA and the GSM bands for Canada and overseas.

This is what I am most likely going to do also.

Heey! Just came in here to ease my longing for Note 2, saw this topic and registered to answer.

In Finland the 3G Note 2 was released yesterday and the rumor is going that the 4G version will come later this year.

Personally I'm not sure if I want to wait that few months, especially since our 4G networks are few and rare.

i too wanted to be an early bird with a note 2 once it released overseas because a month back at the reveal everyone was saying international versions were coming with lte.

thank god i did i some more reading rather than pulling the trigger. it seems the hspa version launched and lte versions are to follow? am i correct in saying this?

im in canada, so waiting for the north american release, what would be the worst difference between the two??

im guessing bloatware, and carrier logos on the phone?
