What is the advantage of the 32 vs 16 if you are using an SD card?

32 GB has advantage over 16 that you can install more apps onto your device.

exactly.

if you are app download crazy, get the 32 GB. otherwise, the 16 GB will be enough.

i use my 32 GB Micro SD to store my photos and videos. but that's only because of "emergency" issues. where just in case my phone decides to stop working, i can just pop out the Micro SD to save my photos and videos. with that in mind, i've only used 1 GB, if that, out of the 32 GB available. :p

Is this really true? If yes, then what app is suited for this?

The best app I've found so far is Es File Explorer

As well as being able to move and copy files between internal and external SDCards you can also access shared files on your wifi LAN network. I use this feature to watch movies I have stored on my PC harddrive, streamed to my phone in bed.

I haven't found any advantage of SD card i have 16 GB GS3 and 16 GB SD Card.
My card is all empty because there is no option of moving anything to the sd card in device unless we use third party apps to move media on to the card.

My Files allows you to move Pictures, Music, Videos from the intetnal to the SD Card

***Best Reason***

Considering that you back up your pics every night like I do...

I save my pics and important (to me) docs on phone and just music and videos on sd. If I lose my phone or it get stolen, they can only access the sd by taking out of phone. Of course I use a pin lock as well.

Yes but those if you who don't backup nightly, factory reset will wipe all this data and it will be gone forever.

I suggest using an app like foldersync to auto backup or encrypt your sd card if you're this concerned about privacy

I have a 32GB card and I just copied my entire photo collection (6,500 photo's) onto it and it still has 25GB free. I honestly can't imagine how I could ever fill it up unless I transferred lots of video there. In any case if I want to watch a video I do it in the comfort of my home.

Yes, remember a couple of months back some poor guy had his wedding photos on the internal sdcard and his phone suddenly wouldn't boot. Samsung offered to replace his phone but he couldn't retrieve his irreplaceable photographs. External sdcard is more secure in that sense if you don't back up.

I simply have my pics automatically uploaded to dropbox.

Most of my 720p movies are 2.5GB - 4.5GB. Under 1 gig @ 1280x720 is too low quality for my liking.

Yeah I probably wouldn't download them at such high quality if they were only for viewing on the phone. But they do look stunning :) ... and I don't see any point in converting them down for the phone.
