Best Buy return for Infinity

still had receipt for my prime that i preordered last november. went to best buy this morning i am typing this from my new infinity tablet. customer service said they couldn't replace it because it was past 30 days, but they would check. after typing some stuff in the computer he said i could get a refund, store credit or exchange.

for those with the keyboard dock, it is the same and i am using my prime dock, we did check and confirmed they were identical. they said i could switch, but i didn't see a reason for that. haven't really played around with it, but i am getting more bars on the wifi then i used to get for the same spot in the house. will wait until the jelly bean update loads before i reinstall my apps.

I have to say thanks to all the people in here who recommended and shared their experience. I went to Office Depot today after buying my TF201 on 4/9/2012 and let them know that after Jelly Bean, my wifi reception was still insufficient. The manager stated that the store would stand behind me as a customer and let me return both the TF201 and the dock for the TF700 and its dock. No extended warranty, nothing but the box, receipt, and my complaint that I had been patient.

I am updating my TF700 as we speak. I would have never taken the chance on trying to return it 6 months after purchase if it wasn't for you all.

Office Depot is where I go instead of Best Buy or microcenter. They almost always have the same equipment at less, and their sales people are the best.

Thanks !

Wow. I originally thought I bought mine from Office Depot. I called them and they told me to send it back to the manufacturer for exchange or replacement. Later found my receipt and turns out I got it from Staples. Called them and got the same response.

I talked to the employee who referred me to the store manager. I presented him with proof of the defect, and anecdotal evidence that multiple other retailers were taking this approach.

It is a negotiation that is likely up to the discretion of the store manager, and I feel I prosecuted the case as opposed to simply asking the question. You may want to attack the issue again from the perspective of persuasion.

With the one question in mind... Name one thing under the sun that isn't negotiable.

i tried to do a warranty exchange with mine today, and they told me to do another factory reset to try and fix the random reboots(because i told them i already had) and if that doesnt work, bring it back and they would send it out for service(~2week process), i stated that i would like to do a warranty exchange for a new one because of the proven defects and they said i would still have to send it out to be fixed. so i guess i will have to try another best buy, because the wifi and GPS arent something they can fix short of putting an infinity back on my prime, LOL

Went to BB with both my prime and keyboard. Before I even got first sentence out to teller at cust serv counter a manager spotted me and came to counter.
Told me to leave my drivers licence with him to que up transaction and to go pic any tablet I wanted.

I asked about the keyboard and he said that they cant exchange it, and that it is NOT compatible with the infinity. Which I knew was incorrect, but I took my keyboard to display table and plugged it into infinty. Worked flawlessly.

Since I had the option to get the Samsung Note 10.1 I hopped on, checked it out, and looked at some side by side comparisons. Still got the infinity. Comes down to 1 major thing, its accessory. Do you want a high function stylus (over 1000 pressure sensitive benchmarks) or a snap on keyboard, that expands ports and battery life.
I choose keyboard.

Best of luck to everyone else trying to make this happen! A receipt is required, and it must have been purchased within 1 yr and not have broken screen...so I was told by manager.
