Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Hi,

running CTMod3.68 here with koumakernel and DATA enabled...... With like 120 apps and no problems whatsoever.....

Do you have DATA enabled in the Settings>>>CTMod settings>>>Koumasettings ?
If not, enable DATA and put a checkmark in the box as well, then boot into "Recovery" and re-format sd-ext, then reboot.....

PS: You don't need a task manager with CTMod, it has already optimized task mgr.

Additional info if possible : What size SD-Card you have ? How large did you partitioning the sd-ext ? Did you initially format the sd-ext ? Did you set "swap" to 0 (zero) when you partitioned ?

Let us know and someone can help you getting it running..... ;)

Sorry, never tried the ssm option, only used data.... Might be a problem how the swap is set up.....( someone made a great "Swap Setup Guide, but I can't find it right now )

Also, what "class" is your 16GB card ? ( should be a number in a small circle on the card ) Maybe the card is too slow.... Don't know....

I guess you just have to wait till one of the other "Prevail-Guys" come home later on.....

Sorry that I can't help !

According to Kouma, the swapiness should not be more than 60 !!

I never played around with swap settings in koumasettings, but Kouma posted his own settings and here are the pics ( but he uses DATA and not SSM) :

mine is set at 60 and i run swap ssm, but have 4 partitions, one for just swap, his says swap but mine goes to the swap partition, don't know where his at just swap goes? might be a file instead. mine is super fast at all times, anytime.

Hi,

As far as I know and observed, most people running their Prevail on higher speed. Some run it at max 924 ( I believe ), I run mine on CTMod with 888 ! Never had a problem so far, I am using Voltage Control that comes with CTMod !

888 is the most I'm comfortable with too... Mine will run at Max, but it just EATS the battery

As of now, I'm at the stock 800

So I have had this mod for about two days now, and its been working pretty great so far. I just had one question. When I download something from the play store the download bar kind of jumps back and forth, like 38% to 41% to 32%. It still completes the download, just curious if anyone has seen anything like that.
Also what are some peoples opinions on the best setting for the voltage control? Right now I've got mine set to sio/smoothass/min:320/max:864 and its been working pretty smoothly, just wanted to know what some opinions out there for the best performance without killing the battery in half an hour.

Hi,

never had the download issue you're experiencing. However, you can try the following :

Go to SETTINGS>>>Applications>>>>Manage Applications >>> Click "ALL" tab and then clear cache and data from "Download manager, Google Play Store and Google Framework.....

Reboot open play store and leave it there for 10 - 15 minutes ( to get it all re-synced again )

Hope this helps.

I run the Prevail on CTMod, Voltage control set to min. 200 & max to 888 !!! Some people report to run it at max with 946 without trouble. I don't think there is an sigificant battery difference between 800 and 888 to not put it on 888 !!!

I was one of the lucky ones. I was able to run mine at 946 with problems. But it did a number on my battery.

Not me. Mine would run at 926 but only with a small load on it. It would crash when I used Maps or another cpu intensive app.

Fortunately I lucked up with my Marquee. That sucker will run 1400 all day long and I have a feeling it could handle 1500 pretty easily. Only problem is the one you mentioned above........ BATTERY. :p It'll drain that sucker fast if I ran it at 1400 all the time. I usually run it at 1200 or 1300 for daily use. I know 1 thing..... I'm glad I bought those extra batteries and have a charger in both cars. :D
