Motorola Triumph is defective and Virgin Mobile is now garbage

I purchased the Motorola Triumph in June 2012. I am now going on my 5th Triumph through Virgin Mobile. When you plug in the charger, it doesn't keep charging the phone. If the phone is moved it stops charging. I keep getting replacement phone after replacement phone and each one does the same thing. I talked to customer service and said I would like a different phone. I even said I will pay the difference of what a different phone would cost. I asked customer service how many replacement phones will it take for Virgin Mobile to finally say I can get a different phone. They said I will never get another phone unless I pay the full price for a different phone. They are selling a defective product and don't care that their customers are getting screwed. The so called manager I was speaking with actually hung up in my face. Needless to say, I will be going to Boost and give them my money instead of giving Virgin Mobile one more dime. They don't care about me being a customer, they don't care that they are selling a defective product. Just a warning for all those who might be considering going the VM and buying this phone.

yes the Triumph sucks and its defective this is a fact and sucks more if it happens to you yes there customer service sucks as much or more then the triumph but you gotta remember VM just sells you the service to use the phone the main people we should be focus on is M because there the ones who made the defective phone and yes VM should do something about it but they also got screwed so cant blame em at least they nice enough to give you another as many times as you can stand going threw refurbs and in a business point of view cant lose money replacing 1000+ phones because if one person gets another phone instead of a triumph every one going to want another phone can you see the numbers here yeah losing lots of money so cant blame em

I'm glad I haven't experienced this issue yet, their customer service does seem to be lacking but it looks like a tradeoff imo of price vs service.

And another reason I'm glad I got the BB warranty, if this happened I can just go for a swap although I'm not sure what happens if they are oos of it as I don't think they carry this phone anymore. I'd be happy if they just gave me a gift card then so I can buy something else.

I wouldn't say that VM customer support sucks.. IMHO it is one of the betters in the industry. I am currently trying to deal with Verizon's and wishing it was VM. VM would skip the hassle and just send a new phone if you were having problems. My Razr is having problems with the touch screen, audio, and service.. and they are trying everything but sending me a new phone, and all its doing is making me more upset with the service that I think is over priced.

The Triumph was a great phone, and my triumph still works like a Champ now that its over a year old now. My first one had a problem with the LCD screen cracking but they shipped me a new one for no charge (over night). Great beginner Android has a feel of some of the newer droids out there being its a "candy bar" phone. There are a few that have problems off the start.. but every phone model has that...

I know the feeling, I have gone through a lot of triumphs myself and the shotty service and slow download speeds are horrible. I have a nice settlement coming in from a car accident i was in, so i am thinking i am just going to buy a galaxy s3 and get t-mobiles 30 dollar plan from walmart and just say screw vm and there shotty phones

one year later and mine still works fine and no service problems. One time I did have to reactivate the phone and customer service was very helpful and followed up with text messages. VM is the service and does not make the phone, so another carrier that is a lower tier won't fix your problem. Just a warning for all those who might be considering going the VM and buying this phone (mr 1 post)

I had tons of problems with my Samsung Intercept. Went back to Best Buy to see if they could help, and they took it back at full price and gave credit towards the Triumph. Just be polite and calm when you explain it, and they'll do everything in their power to help. Maybe the seller of your phone would be willing to do that too. Take back all the OEM stuff it came with.

Just get a nook or Kindle charger.. Any brand but Motorola. The port gets worn out, just needs a better build charger.. Will work 100% guarantee.. I think :D

This is probably the best advice anyone could give on this...I use my gfs kindle charge cord and it works perfectly without fail...also bending the tip slightly so the two tiny prongs stick out further seems to work

Yeah, the triumph does suck, I have not had a charger issue and mine is probably 15 months old. The main issue I have is the GPS takes forever to lock on and it was slow as molassas on a cold winter night in Maine. But I just flashed it with Cyanogenmod's V9 (ICS) and its wonderful. GPS still takes forever to lock on but its very fast to do everything else.

I bought the better half one of the HTC Evo V and its the cats meow... 4G even works at the house. A fast and beautiful phone. Ditch the Triumph if you can afford to get the Evo V, you will be a happy camper then.
