Totally had enough of this phone

Had enough of my Sensation (Orange network) which is only a year old.

Problems....
  • Phone is docked every night and only last 7 hours untill the battery is flat (no calls, just e-mails, messenger and occasional internet).
  • Facebook takes forever to load and sometimes doesnt load.
  • Facebook does not show recent posts, some of my friends post daily yet I can only see 4/5 weeks ago.
  • Phone occasionally turns itself off (whilst docked, in use or even not in use)
  • Internet is shocking and sometimes doesnt load or takes ages.
  • When pressing the power button to unlock the phone, it takes 4-5 seconds before the lock screen comes on.
  • Phone is slow in use.
Today, in 4hours and only 15mins use, I opened Play Store, selected Apps and clicked on an App to view. The battery went from 22% to orange.

The screen is set to about 30%, screen is off immediatly, Autosync is off for everything except e-Mail (2hrs), Facebook (2hours), Weather (hourly). Wifi is off unless at home. Bluetooth is off. GPS off.

Only installed apps are;- eBay, Paypal, LoveFilm, Cut the rope, Angry Birds, Facebook, Keepsafe, Kik messenger and Instagram. (all on SD card)

I reset the phone once a day.

Total Memory 583MB, Used 440MB.

The phone has been re-set a few times and apps re-installed. Within a few days im getting the above problems.

Utterly cheesed off with the thing, I wish I could get rid.:mad::mad::mad:

Is this simply an opportunity for a vent sesh? :tee:
I have about as many applications installed as you do, and I am consistently cleaning my phone out and deleting text messages because I've got "Low Space" warnings.
I feel like my battery lasts about 5 hours with general usage. :shot:
Admittedly, my phone's brightness is still at about 40% (it's so much preeettier).

Not sure if you want advice, reassurance or just a shoulder to cry on.

I have none of those problems. I am not a heavy user and can get a day out of my phone with wifi and 3g both on all day, and with the weather and emails syncing every 30 minutes. And I live in a low signal area, which always drains the battery more, even when I am on wifi for data.

I invested in 2 anker batteries and a desk charger unit that can charge both phone and spare battery at the same time. Total cost about

John, I am having a few issues myself, not as bad as you though.

1. Since the ICS update. My WiFi is crap to put it bluntly. I have to be within a 5ft radius of my router to get a decent connection, if I go upstairs it just constantly cuts in and out and nevergetting a steady solid connection. Result is using my 3G which is not on because I shpuldnt need too in my house when I've WiFi. No issues with my router or WiFi as my wife's iPhone works 110% on our WiFi anywhere in the house.

2. Whenever someone rings me, I have to say hello like 4 times before they hear me. It's like a 5 second delay upon answering before the caller can hear me.

3. I get the same Facebook issue as you, saying that it could be the app as the Facebook android app is appalling.

4. HTC sense restarting to the white screen with HTC logo a few times per day, I am now using Nova Launcher Pro. Fantastic.

I think the ICS update has a lot to answer for mate.

A word of warning, don't head over to the HTC UK Facebook page looking advice as there are a collection of regular posters over there and if you dare say anything bad about an HTC phone you get shot down. Or, if you are offered help usually it's "do a factory restore" I have done 3 factory restores and am not prepared to do another, think a "smartphone" shouldn't warrant all these restores.

I had issues with crashing and poor battery life, which were resolved by cleaning the battery contacts and then wedging a piece of business card in along the top edge to hold the stock battery in better. I've now got an Anker battery installed which has also been fine.

The Facebook app is equally as crap on my Nexus 7 tablet which runs Jellybean, and it's crap on my mates Desire running Gingervillain, or his Galaxy S2. Some people that use FB a lot seem to use a browser and go to m.facebook.com.

I've not really had WIFI issues.
