Okay, swapped my gs3 even for an iPhone 5 64gb, lol, for monetary purposes. Sold it on eBay. Now I am here: do I go back for another gs3, which I was happy with. 2) go back to a nexus, which I loved and love stock android or 3) get the note 2. Yes, I have a problem. I know. Thanks for the help!

firstly, are you okay with the size of the note?

secondly, are you willing to wait?

thirdly, what are the most important features/specs you want in your phone?

Size is no problem. Sprint will have it in 6 days, hopefully I can wait it out lol. Camera is most important honestly, secondly updates and new os.

Ok i didnt go back and read what everyone said, but do no install an AOSP rom on either the s3 or note2 in my opinion. you miss out on all the touchwiz features. And on the note 2, you have the multiple windows which looks awesome, and AOSP wont have any of that. I understand why people go AOSP but i dont believe many people really know what it is

Please explain aosp.

AOSP = Android Open Source Project.

It's stock Android, whatever the latest version is. Currently that's a variant of Jellybean.

I think what the PP refers to is the little enhancements you lose going to stock and away from Touchwiz. I have both the Galaxy Nexus (unlocked GSM version straight from the Google Play store which means absolutely NO carrier bloatware, currently being run on a T-Mobile SIM card) and Galaxy S3 (also on Sprint like you). I find I prefer the little enhancements I get with Touchwiz. Things like the camera app, the phone/contacts app, the Quick Tools in the Notification Bar, the voice command features, etc. My GNex gives me Google Now which is very nice, but that's really the only big feature advantage. I'm eagerly awaiting Jellybean on the S3 just to see how well Samsung marries the best of Touchwiz to the best of Jellybean.

If I were you, I'd go for the Note 2 right now. (In fact, I'm kinda jonesing for it myself.) It looks exactly like the S3 but it's bigger and has more features (including Jellybean). I love the split screen feature and the S-Pen tools.

Downside is the bigger phone size. If that's a barrier to you, then go get yourself another S3. (And don't be such an idiot you trade it for a crappy iPhone again!!!)

Your other alternative is to wait a month and see what sort of Nexus phones get announced. But honestly, I don't think it's worth getting a Nexus phone from a carrier. They always hold up OS updates for their testing and bloatware. Sprint did, though not as long as idiot Verizon. Best use of a Nexus phone is an unlocked GSM version you can run on AT&T or T-Mobile with one of their SIM cards. Sprint and Verizon will always give us issues since they are CDMA carriers.

Kudos on having Sprint LTE! Sprint just started rolling it out to my area. I only get LTE in the city but my 3G speeds have improved with the network upgrades. In a year's time, we should see a much bigger area roll-out. Ignore the naysayers around here about that. There's a lot of Sprint hate around, but usually from Verizon folks who have been sucked into the vortex of "Here Now but Pay Through the Nose" economics to appreciate competition.

Lol. Thanks. I really want stock android. Especially at the cost of newer updates over the perks touchwiz offers. I do prefer touchwiz over other ui, but I hate the wait for software, like everyone else. And the note only has one downfall for me, ppi is so much lower.

From what I've seen the PPI isn't that noticeable. Like I said, your issue will be having a CDMA carrier. You can't buy phones off market and activate them on the carrier like a GSM phone. And if you are buying a Nexus from a carrier you won't get a "true" Nexus experience.

That's why I have two phones and accounts. I went from an individual Sprint account to sharing a family plan and used the extra $30 saved to get a prepaid T-Mobile account on the side. Then I bought the $349 GNexus off the Play Store and activated that on T-Mo with one of their SIM cards. It's a special web-only plan that gives you 100 voice mins, unlimited text and data (throttled after 5GB) for $30/mo.

T-Mobile's HSPA+ data rates can be better than Sprint's 3G (2-3mbps or more). In my travel areas (Eastern seaboard US), I get different coverage. At home in MD Sprint is better, but down in Florida T-Mobile is faster. The again, when you go through GA and the Carolinas T-Mo vanishes while Sprint always has a signal.

I would go with the Note 2 then.
If size is not an issue, then the Note 2 is best. the cameras for the SGS3 and Note 2 are pretty much the same. And the Note 2 ships with latest android 4.1.1

We got a while before they release android 5.0
