Help [Bug]Deleteing draft text message force closes stock SMS app

if you can reproduce this each time, you should immediately open up a ticket with HTC NOT Sprint, and get HTC on it to possibly put in another MR. They may even pair you with a tech at HTC to see if he or she can reproduce the steps also.

I assume this is with the stock SMS client and not 3rd party?

if you have a 3rd party SMS client, does this same thing happen?

are you rooted?

does it matter how lengthy the SMS draft message is? can it be any length or does it happen after so many characters in the draft (make sense?)

does it matter if the contact is in your contacts? will it crash if you enter a number NOT in your contacts?

have all the latest updates pushed OTA?

I have called HTC and reported this.

My GO SMS 3rd Party Text App does not have the same process to delete drafts, so I cannot reproduce that.

I am not rooted and have the latest update.

The stock message app crashes no matter the size of the text message. Tired one word and no words.

It crashed when deleting a draft text to a known phone contact and a direct phone number not in my contacts.

The app crash automatically brings up the "report problem" which I have done.

If I select each draft message individually, I can delete them with no problem so it is definitely related to the Delete Drafts menu option that allows you to select individual draft messages to delete.

Looks to be a bug then.

To those who need this fixed, send a trouble ticket to HTC (best to e-mail it to them so its logged for sure) and they should/may include it in a next MR.

Who knows how long this bug has been there, but there is nothing that we can do at this point but individually go in and remove drafts one by one. its a minor annoyance.

i think the majority of people use 3rd party sms apps so this will not be a big deal to most.

kudos to the op for posting this though. :)
