If you had about $14,000 how would you start a business? I'm looking for realistic ideas basically something that could make that money grow.... I like tech and apps and business and i got that money in the bank not doing anything. I want to own a business like a company full of android developers and stuff...

That's not a whole lot of money.... business-wise. Just sayin'. :p

Well a lot of people started business with $200 $500 and stuff...when they came to America for the american dream....well it gets me because I have $14k and I have no idea how they did it with such a small amount...theres so many people that had under $2000 and they started their business and is crazy ...

Unless you already have a vision that's been proved to be practical in the real world, you might as well bank the money until you come up with a workable business plan.

If it's a technology product, the cost of protecting your IP (and making sure that you're not inventing something that's already been patented) could easily eat up that much and more.

A more practical idea might be to use the money to learn a trade.

If I had $13,000.00, I know exactly what I would do with it. There are a few stamp auctions coming up and I would spend half on dealer lots and then break them up for resale. I know I can turn a profit. Fair warning to the OP: unless you know the market, stay away from stamps; the sharks and big guns will eat you alive. :D

I might suggest that you save the money until you have a clear idea of what you want to do. The last thing you want to do is just invest because the cash is burning a hole in your pocket and you think you need to do something. Put the cash away and every day, you will earn a profit, guaranteed. No worries about it.

If you need the money to handle an emergency, you have it at hand and no need to borrow, so there is even more profit for you.

So go talk to small business owners in your area. Seems to me you need to educate yourself before you blow the cash on a business plan or idea.

AND DO NOT, NEVER, EVER fall for some of the mile deep BS you read on the Internet. Most of these schemers will take your money and run. And you will never recover it.

Some have made it big starting with a grand or so but countless more have lost everything on a sure-fire idea. Some well-financed startups fail, never forget that.

Be prepared to work long hours for no pay and make sure you have at least 6 months (preferably more) cash in the bank to cover your expenses.

Any business starts with an idea –the idea is more important than money
So you need to start with a great idea or else a good idea that is somewhere in the neighborhood of a great one so that you can early on in the company's lifespan pivot over to where the great one is. I do agree that you will need more money, and don't quit your regular job to run the business

take $10.00 from your money and buy this book
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

nothing to do with business but you need to read it good luck
