Root [ROM] Harmonia 3.17 17Nov12 (ICS\Sense 3.6)

ok thanks. now another issue that he has is that ha can't view 3d pictures in the gallery now can play the 3d videos

My best answer is to backup your apps with titanium backup, and then reflash the rom by wiping everything but the SD card. And if you're using a different kernel other than the one provided in the rom, make sure to flash it with 4-ext recovery with smartflash on. (If S-on)

I cant seem to install Usage.apk. I download the apk onto my phone and try to install it and I am promptly notified that the program is not installed. I have "install from unknown sources" checked in security. I have also installed other programs with out issue using the same method.
You need to put it in the system/app folder. You need to get a file explorer like ES File Explorer or File Manager (or any other one) and enable the Root settings/explorer on either of those apps. Once you do that you need to copy/cut the Usage.apk and paste it in the system/app folder. To get to that folder you need to go up one level from the default sdcard folder and find the 'system' folder and then the 'app' folder and paste the Usage.apk there. Here is a pretty nice guide with some pictures to help you: How To Install Any App As A System App On Android [Guide]

Thanks for the detailed response :D, I appreciate it. I have been using explorer as my file manager up to this point but it seems I need to pay if I want to use the app with root privileges. I was looking for a light weight file manager w a good rating and explorer is what google suggested. Are either of the file managers you mentioned, free with root privileges?

Lately I've been getting an error message more and more frequently when downloading/updating an app; "Insufficient storage available."

The size of the app doesn't seem to matter. So far it's happened with GMaps, YahooMail, CNN, and few others. Phone currently has 369MB of free internal space. A full reboot seems to fix the issue but I'm seeing this error more often these days.

Yes, both of the ones I mentioned are free :). I like ES File Explorer better because it doesn't have any Ads and it has a few extras (like a video player, which is something Harmonia is missing). Plus it's the one used in the guide in the link I included in the other post.

Sense 3.6 themes will all work.

If you mean themes such as battery icons, taskbar themes and such, then the answer is no. You can try any you like, just backup first, and expect problems. Worst that will happen is you will have to restore your backup.

Between the themes and Leedroid, you should be able to do quite a bit. You can also try UOT Kitchen, but there is no guarantees on it.

I installed ES file exploer and followed the tutorial How To Install Any App As A System App On Android, to no avail. I get the same result, I click instal and I am promptly told, not installed.

I'm not sure what could be the problem... It worked for me. You aren't supposed to install the app though. Just drop it in the system/app folder and restart the phone and it should work when you try to open it in the menu.

Hey all, kind of a weird problem, yet another famous one at that... Don't know what happened but last night the phone was shutting off weird, like when I clicked the power button to put it to sleep it would fade out very inconsistently. So I reset and it still did the same thing, so I took the battery out and charged it separately and then put it back and it's literally stuck on the Harmonia boot screen.

I cleared the dalvik cache and still did the same thing (I didn't want to clear the data \ cache as I didn't do a recent backup) I did a CWM backup with it and tried to just restore it and no good. I then even restored an earlier backup of Harmonia, cleared that dalvik N data\cache and then restored the data\cache from the one from last night and STILL the same thing!

So as you can tell I tried a bunch of different options but as far as I can tell everything was fine last night and now this. So any ideas would be great, and thanks in advance!

Love, love, love this ROM. Only issue is getting WiFi Tether to work with Anthrax kernel. The MSS Clamping option disappears with Anthrax it seems? I'm setting generic ics WLAN0, routing fix, but the MSS Clamping option disappears with Anthrax. FYI I'm S-OFF, use 4EXT Recovery and have performed all the "Fix everything by turnig your phonEvo 3D" radio tweaks. WiFi Tether works fine until I flash Anthrax.

So, anyone have WiFi Tether running with Anthrax? Feedback greatly appreciated. Getting Anthrax and WiFi Tether to play nice is the last item on my list. Do I absolutely need Anthrax? No, but just want to have it all working just for the sake of doing it and seeing if I can top a 3000 Quadrant score. Petty, I know.

i watched the "how to root htc evo v" video. towards the end on step 7, it tells you to flash the stock rom. what is the point in doing that ? if say i want to flash Harminia rom can i just flash this rom then ? in step 2, it tells to put stock rom and Root in a folder and name it Roms. i cannot find this Root anywhere on the post and him, somehow, just showed up with an SU patch towards the end of the video. will i need this Root thing ? if i am able to get to step 7 i will already have an unlocked bootloader and a recovery. can i just flash , say, Harminia? Does Harminia has root built in already ?
