How's the battery life?

With my S2 I was not able to make it thru an entire day w/Out having to place the phone on a charger. For that reason alone I have chargers strategically placed all over the house.
The Note 2 goes on the charger each night before I go to bed. I'm doing everything on it so the usage varies from moderate to heavy. From about 8am-2 or 3 am it's around 60% left. I think that's phenomenal.

unplugged at 8am today and it is 2:30 and i am at 68% and have been using it sporaticly during that time... mostly web browsing and flipboarding... i had a iphone 4 i won i was using with a mophie before and would go 18 hours on one charge using all day... going to invest in a spare battery for sure i feel

Could some of the USA owners please say what they had for phone and battery life before and battery life of note 2.

PLEASE
Thank YOU

I was off the past two days so my stats are off a bit........

I got approximately 16hrs 40min with the backlight all the way down (I was using it indoors without overhead lighting) on my first charge up. I downloaded about 4.5gb of apps and started every app to make sure it functioned.

Yesterday I got 14hrs 56min of heavy app & download use, with approximately 25%-40% backlight in assorted overhead lighting situations. I was also at a house party and everyone wanted to handle the GN2. A few S3 owners even asked to S-Beam some pics which worked flawlessly. What a good time.

Today is my first "real life" day with the phone. I am going to work right now and the phone has been off the charger since this morning at 10am. I get off at midnight and usually talk 1hr-2hr a day during work. I will post my findings.

I hope this helps.

Hi I'm a new user.
When I first got my note 2 weeks ago, the battery life was phenomenal, was browsing, watching media, gaming almost all day, at end of the day battery was always at around 35-40% left, I unplug charger usually at 7am, n recharge at midnight or so.
But in the last 2 days, I find that the battery is draining excessively, I didn't change any settings on the brightness of the screen.
I did install a few games (the usual ones angry birds series...) and apps.
Any recommendations?

It's very possible one of the newer apps you installed is causing the excessive drain. Best I can tell you is remove them in the order you installed them until you find the culprit.

You can also install CPU Spy from the play store. It'll show you which app or process is killing your battery.

This is really encouraging. I'll be using it on LTE pretty much all the time, and I'm hoping to snag a Seido extended battery within the month. I use my Samsung Galaxy Nexus with their 3800 mAh extended w/NFC and it's been amazing. I consistently get about 14-16 hours with moderate use currently. I'm hoping I can get at least the same with the note 2 and an Extended. But the CORE battery lasting that long is great.

Take screenshots of the battery stats screen!

Here are the 3 days I have owned the phone.....other than sleeping and working yesterday there was no more than a few minutes that would go by that I was not downloading something, testing apps/files or tweaking the phone in some way.

Notice the 3rd day (yesterday)....I got amazing battery life through a typical day of use including running errands, commuting 2 hours, working for 9.5 hours, talking on the phone for 2+ hours, etc. Knowing I don't have Wifi during working hours I shut it off, notice the little blip of wifi in the middle of my tour, that was inadvertent and all it was doing was searching for networks in the area because I did not have wifi available.

I hope this phone keeps up its initial battery life stats. Very happy owner here.

Well I had an interesting little experiment so far. Got my first one Saturday night, charged it up full then pulled it off the charger and went to sleep. Woke up and the phone used 10% battery overnight. Drove to brunch Sunday morning with the phone plugged into the car charger from my GNex and the phone died. Got my replacement Sunday afternoon. Charged it fulled before heading to bed and pulling it off the charger. Slept about the same amount of time if not a little more. Woke up this morning and found that this replacement only used 3% battery overnight. As far as I can tell, nothing was different between the two. I suspect there was a defect in the power system on the first one which caused the excessive drain and the ultimate death.

I truly know how happy you are. Went to sleep last night 3 a.m. 100%. Up at 10; 2% battery used during that time. WiFi, BT & notifications are on 24/7.

Being that this is the battery thread, let me ask here.

Is there a app that shows what is the amp charge provided to the device.

For example, If you plug the device into a wall charger the battery icon changes from the usual battery level icon toone that it is being charged with the lighting bolt. The same if you connect the device to a car charger.
But are you getting 1A or 2A? So is there an app that shows you this?

Reason I ask is because I want to test a car charger that claims is 2A which would be great for the Note 1 or Note 2 for faster charging.

TS

Edit: this thread answered me. Google is my friend lol
