Root [Sprint/Cricket] Wifi Tether Disconnects

I'm a new user. I'm running wifi tether on a rooted SGS3 Sprint.

sometimes I have problems connecting. After I've changed the SSID channel several times, it will finally connect to my laptop. After about 15 min. the Wifi Tether shuts down.

I'm sure this issue has been addressed here before but can someone please tell me how to fix this

Thanks

Welcome! A few questions. Is your phone running Jellybean? If so, the developer of that app has to update it to be compatible with Jellybean. It's a known issue over at XDA and people continue to blame the ROM all the while it's the apps fault. If you're not on Jellybean, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? If that doesn't work, have you tried contacting the developer?

If you're running Jellybean, then it's not gonna work. Sprint patched that up so only the official Sprint wifi tether works.

Dam it's always something, I'm taking I'm running jelly bean I just rooted my phone I haven't flashed any other roms barely had this joint 2 days now I'm stuck with a janky wifi tether smh you wouldn't by any chance know how to make TB restore apps on this device? (GS3) I have a older wifi tether app that works just fine only thing TB isn't giving me an option to restore like on my old evo

It'll only restore apps that you've previously backed up on that phone. They will either save to your internal or external folder labeled 'titanium'

Dam its not going to work then. Is there an older version of wifi tether I can use? Or is it a way to get my old wifi tether (which by the way is on the sd card that is currently in the GS3) on my GS3?

Is it in APK format? If so you can install it but like I said it won't work in Jellybean because it has been patched so the developer has to update the app

Make sure you have the newest version of WiFi..... 3.2-beta2.....this version added the S3...to ICS

there are some times that I may have to change the channel to get it to connect, but I live on the very edge of Sprints service, but once I am connected I have no problems staying connected.

In the Settings Menu the only things I have a check mark beside are....
WiFi-driver reload
Enable Access-Control
Routing fix
Vibrate on connect

Make sure you don't have any of the Shutdown timers or limits set
