Spectrum 2 specs released

In an article posted on this website's front page we learn more about the spectrum 2 specs. It isn't even VZ who released them but Best Buy. The new phone will have the upgraded S4 processor (S3 for the current Gen) still at 1.5 Ghz. It will come with ICS which we are now getting the upgrade for. It will feature a 4.7" screen (4.5 for us) with the same 8MP camera and 1.3MP front camera. The design is more square and gets an additional touch button.

Like I was saying before I like the squared off look of the Lucid / Viper. So I like the look of this one. I also like the look of the SGS2 better than the SGS3. I also like the look of the Revolution better than the Spectrum.

I likes me a square phone.

I didn't catch if the navigation buttons were part of the LCD or just silk-screened on.

I guess it would have been silly to put them on the Spectrum without it launching with ICS.

looks nice.. maybe i can find one for about $120 or so when my contract is over.. keep my unilimited data

The navigation buttons seem to be in the same position as ours is now but instead of 3 buttons they added a 4th button (3 vertical dots). Not sure what they do.

thats the menu button... ics changed it to the dots.... and they arent neccessary in ics due to most apps including a touch menu button....
ics and jb were built around a 3 button system. home back and app switcher.. like on the gnex

If only the processor was bumped to S4 pro, then it would be viable to be the current Spectrums successor.

I agree this almost seems like Apple upgrading their iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S. Faster processor but the rest of the specs stay the same. LG put it in a new skin. That's it for me.

Pretty much, if I was going to upgrade from my original Spectrum, I'd go for the NoteII

I rather get an LG Optimus G or LG Nexus 4 for verizon. But I'm eyeing at the HTC Droid DNA when it comes out. Getting the ICS upgrade for our LG Spectrum makes our phone like new again so if I'm gonna upgrade I might as well go all the way to quad-core. Before the ICS update, I was looking at the Razr HD Maxx but its onscreen buttons made the 4.7" screen look smaller and I think the LG Spectrum display screen looks alot better.

I am going to wait and see if Verizon gets some form of a nexus and if not will wait until CES to see what's announced. I have an upgrade in June so hopefully by then there are more quad core devices on verizon

I lol at people that call this an incremental update, and compare this to iphone 4s.

S4 blows away the s3, and the same processor in galaxy s3, and stop bitching about it because it is priced at 99 dollars. So am I missing something here, oh and these ips screens are legit. Like you all are gonna be able to see the difference between quad core s4 and dual s4, and get if for 99 dollars. Had a chance to look at spectrum's screen and boy I wished my gs3 had that screen. Sharpest text I have ever seen on a screen.

from 4gb to 16gb internal storage, bigger battery, built in wireless charging cover.

Everyone has their thing about designs, but I personally like this and I don't mind.

If it was priced at 299, I would have a problem or even 199.

People seem to forget that it costs 99 dollars.

When I said it wasnt much of an upgrade I just expected more I guess. I agree about the design. I like the look.

hahaha, true true, but seriously you could make argument that it is not quad, but s4 processors are night and day compared to s3 and I have used the original spectrum and rezound, they both lag and I have never experienced lag on the new s4 processors. Thing still flies.

$99??? you need to read the fine print. Yea maybe $99 up front, but about $15mo of your monthly bill is paying for the rest of it for the next 2yrs.

That would only be an issue if you could get a plan discount for not buying subsidized phones. As it is, the joke is on anyone, without a wish to keep their current plan, that pays full price, while everyone else saves a few hundred.

all phones are releasing with ics right now. Name one that has released with JB? Only one I know of is the N4 which isn't even officially being sold yet.

I know the Gnex and a couple others have got JB but they weren't released with it. Phones take months to develope and get approval for release and you aren't gonna find many being released with JB for at least 6 months.

All current lg phones are released with ICS, and the UI seems to be pretty much universal across all devices so I don't have any doubts that JB will be released for this phone sooner or later.

Although there are some interesting points that were shared I'd like to compare it to some other top LG phones in other carriers. For instance, the LG Optimus G. S4 Pro is there, but why shouldn't the 2nd one have it as well? I completely agree S4 is whole new world to it's predecessor, but what I meant in my post is why buy the Spectrum 2 when you can save more for something that performs better? And yes I agreed with $99 price point. The only way I'd see customers buying is for a midrange phone with standards.

Name how many phones that are modded with it running at its full potential , and look at the lg intuition tread dead.

Just know when j.b becomes the standard , lg won't be up too them.
