Help Attempt to send video results in "file too large" error

just what it says,, file is too large.

reduce the resolution, or take a shorter clip, or save to dropbox. with dropbox, you can create a link and email or send via sms.

and some questions:

are you rooted?
what resolution are you set to on the camcorder?
are you using the front or back cam?
are you using any video editing effects (B&W, sepia, etc)
how are you sending it?
does she have an evo? or some other handset? or are you just sending directly to an email to open up on a computer?

Not rooted.
Not sure of the resolution.
Back facing camera.
No effects.
Tried sending via text and gmail.
She has an iPhone 4s.

I have drop box, but don't really use it. If I upload it to Drop Box, can I send it by gmail from there?

well did you get the extra space since you referred someone? :) the more people you help sign up,, the more space you get. this 25GB is only good for 2 years then you lose it.. ;)

Well, just keep in mind, the resolution and length of video will dictate how you can send the video. you did not mention how you were sending it (e-mail, sms, etc) and how the receiver was getting it, but it seems you were going through the cellular network?

the file size matters. ;)

I usually just point and shoot videos with out changing settings.
I was trying to send it through the cellular network as well as wifi, attached to an email.

You cant text no file bigger than 1mb and email no file bigger than 10mb. 13 sec on a high resolution sometimes may be to big to email. check the size of the video. If the file is to big you can try a app call kicksend. that can transfer bigger files.

I assume the receiving party needs to have the kicksend app as well?

Interesting... I just took a 13 second video and ended up with an 8.92 MB file. I emailed it just fine.

It turns out, I have my camera set to 1280x720 res.. not the full 1080p one. so maybe if the OP is set at its highest setting, the file is too large.

.....

OK, so I changed the setting to full HD (1080) and had a file that was 15.7 MB large and Gmail took it as an attachment. hmmmmmm...

OP, what email address are you using to send it? Gmail apparently likes it if it's as big as 16MB. Maybe others (yahoo, hotmail) don't like attachments that large?
