Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

Great work g60! Glad to hear about your progress. I hope you have a safe full recovery. Will the camera work better than the stock camera app? And will the updated rom be posted on the 1st page when it's ready?

Yeah so far so good on the recovery. I am not sure will have to wait and see, hard to say what will and won't work on the camera. Once it's ready I will post it here in this thread. I have another update for Facebook Sync I need to push up, maybe tonight depends if I get any coding done tonight. A little out of it right now but it's expected :)

OK I tried to change my virgin mobile number now my phone is not working and the ##virgin# not working to edit my number. Wut do I do

You're going to need to find the Stock Rom and flash that to your phone, then run the virgin mobile bloatware account activation crap. Once that's done, you can flash back to your current rom (this one) and be on your merry way :)

Does anybody else get some instability with Wifi connections? seems like my Wifi likes to cut out after a while, especially on my work network. Might just be my phone/work network (which has a bit of a reputation).

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know a way or widget to see text messages on the lock screen, ala the iPhone. It is the one feature I miss from my old 3g.

Yea I get the same thing and also when I try to make a hotspot it never turns on it just gets stuck at the "turning on wifi" thing and I don't know why. also Google now will lag and I'll have to tap on a web address five and six times before it will respond.

Either use GoSMS or HandCent. GoSMS is based on HandCent but has since been vastly improved, as HandCent is now abandoned. Dunno if this is EXACTLY what you're looking for, but it has a popup showing all your texts that is centered on the screen, and you can toggle it on and off, and where it shows up at.

Nice one although I do think the camera will be fixed much sooner than we all think. The MTDEV guys seem pretty spot on when it comes to implementing fixes into a ROM.
CM10 doesn't yet have a working camera, even with camera apps from Google Play, nor does it yet have 3G access, but I'm hopeful and waiting to test the newest release that the MTDEV team releases.

Camera camera CAMERA.
Collectively how many
you hackers using cm7/9?

Virgin Mobil should collectivly
Be subsidizing, mt dev team
N g60 for giving us a reason
To stay custmers!
I agree, Virgin Mobile should be subsidizing these guys, their great and if it were not for their hard work, I would have already switched to another carrier.

My complements on the 10/28 release. I installed this and am overclocking at 2Ghz with no problem.
Good job to all those involved in getting this up and running. I was able to hook up my bluetooth keyboard which I couldn't do before...no more bluetooth dropouts like the old Motorola release. Battery seems to be lasting longer (only 2 days to compare right now but it seems like I have more juice when I got home).
When the camera gets on board I'll be making a donation....

Honestly, I would back off of 2GHz. You really could slowly fry your phone that way. I might edit this post with a link to what happens.

Has anyone had problems with apps purchased through google play expiring? I bought neutron mp around a month ago. Unfortunately, it keeps expiring on me. I thought it was the app, but I just bought a samsung tab with an official ICS rom. Works perfectly there.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? For me, it has persisted through flashing the last few updates of this rom. I wonder if there might be some problem with this rom maintaining or accessing the google play license cache. If not, any ideas about what might be causing this?

Thanks.

2Ghz proved to be unstable...running 1.5Ghz now. I know electronics doesn't like heat but the CPU idler keeps the Ghz down for the most part so I'd be interested in hearing more about your "frying" comment. I know CPU heat is frequency dependent.

And I kept my phone on overnight for 14 hours and battery was still at 50% this morning....wow....that's with bluetooth and wifi on....wifi connected...bluetooth not connected. Old ROM never came close to that.

G60 when do you think a rough estimate of when you'll have the camera done?

Its not definite that the camera will ever be fixed in this ROM. G60 does this shit for free. You should know already that if you've read any forum about flashing ROMs, it's not polite at all to ask that question. It's downright rude. So I'll give you my rough estimate. Sometime from now, till the end of 2013,... if ever. Or whenever it happens. If it does get fixed, great. If not, G60, thanks for all the time and effort you have put into making this ROM as awesome as it could be. Camera or not, I still love it. ;)
