Help Please Report 3G/4G (LTE) Speed Test Results

I was in Baltimore, MD the other day for a baseball game, and the 4G speed that I got was constantly between 15-20Mbps down, and 10-12Mbps up. I tested it with the OpenSignal app and SpeedTest as well. Browser handled it very well (chrome), weather and all kind of apps worked great and fast too. Hope it comes to VA too sometimes...

I recently moved to Milwaukee and the 3G signal here is terrible. In my house I have to use wi-fi to connect to the internet at all. In most places around town, indoors or our, I struggle to get more than a couple bars.

The LTE announcement not listing Milwaukee as a near term launch pissed me off causing me to email Sprint.

This was their response. Looks like I'll be waiting a while. If its not here by the time my contract is up, its Verizon for me.

"Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Christopher and I work within the Corporate Account Services department. Your issue has been escalated to me to ensure proper resolution.

I apologize for the inconvenience and understand the frustration. I understand you

North Austin, TX just had an LTE tower put in, sometime this week it appears. SpeedTest mobile app reports:
10/03/12 08:12PM 11.90Mbps down and 11.89Mbps up
10/03/12 10:29PM 14.48Mbps down and 12.19Mbps up

Dropped down to 5/8/4/8Mbps down by 5/4/2/9Mbps last night on multiple tests over 2 hours (1 day later)

I posted this in the Evo 4g forum...whoops. I randomly picked up 4g LTE in Charlotte NC in the Ballantyne area at Earth Fair of all places. Guess that shopping center is a test ground. Speeds were blazing fast and I was picking up around 8 up and 8 down. If this is LTE I'm in love.

Are you using a 4G or 4G LTE?

Are you using a 4G or 4G LTE?

I thought the only 4g we could pick up was LTE. I remember my Photon would pick up 4g all over Charlotte up until the day I switched to the LTE which then picked up nothing. I'm assuming this was LTE. I also die the ##DEBUG## and found the RSRP number (-91dBm) which again I assumed meant I was on LTE.

I love this phone but Phoenix isn't on the list of the next 100 to go LTE active. I've spent a lot of time with chat and tech support asking "when?" They keep frigging lying. I don't mind being told Q2 2013 or even Q4 2020. Just quit blowing smoke. Oh, and quit putting places like Athens, TX and the Virgin Islands on the "next 100" list while the entire state of Arizona is ignored. We didn't even have 4G.

So, after being with Sprint for nearly 8 years, I am going to pay them $350 for my line and $60 for my daughters, and get the hell off this sinking ship in a month. Only reason I didn't do it yesterday was because my wife wants a new phone and the iPhone is the only one that will fit in her hand now that everything is a mini-tablet. I guess that means I'll also be jumping off the HTC boat too for a G3. Not too happy about that but I'll manage.

I realize this a mostly Sprint forum, but here in PHX, it appears that Verizon is the hands down winner for coverage of both voice and 4G LTE data. Can anyone comment on that?

Only reason I ask is your device list says Evo 4G with no LTE at the end (which I see you changed) and the accidentally posted in Evo 4G thread. Just making sure you were in the right place.:D

Can somebody explain this to me? I need an explanation. It's nearly 2013 and this is some of the best speed I have seen in MONTHS. I went for a hike the other day (place is about 3 miles from my apartment) and I was getting LTE out of nowhere. Let me explain this to you: I go to a university with over 35,000 students and live 4 blocks from it. I was getting faster 3g and ACTUAL 4gLTE in the middle of the woods than I was on campus/at home.

I'm about tired of this. A few of my friends get 4g LTE with their Sprint SG3s and I am stuck with this. I'm beginning to think my phone is faulty. I don't expect lightning fast speeds but, being the largest city between San Antonio and Austin, one would think that my 3g speed should be at least USEABLE.

I didn't know which format you all prefer, but I'm use to kB/s

I got a little taste of LTE when I flew into LAX this past week ... speeds of 15mb+, I almost shed a tear. Then I made it to Disneyland where Sprint service, period, is pretty much a rumor. You would think they would really redouble efforts to serve areas like that where there are bound to be thousands of Sprint users at any given time wanting to use the network.

I'm just so disappointed in the post-iPhone Sprint, it's just been the pits. I'm finding I can't even rely on the mobile network in many instances, for anything at all.

Oh why not. Let's update my blazing fast speeds here in downtown Denver:

Wow, just ran it and I think this is a record since I got this phone at launch!

460kbps down, 438kbps up.

Why oh why did I give up wimax for this phone if Sprint is never going to bring LTE to this city? We were one of the first with wimax and we still haven't made the list of cities that will get LTE even for 2013... I have a feeling I will be trading in this phone before I ever get to use LTE here.

EXACTLY the same situation in Honolulu. The thinking that it somehow makes sense to launch earlier in other cities that didn't have early Wimax launches does jack squat for us with LTE phones :(
