Root [ROM]{MS840} Number_Two v1.8 ~ ZVA

it's possible.. could be the vm heapsize, if you can get an app from play store like rom toolbox and edit build.prop change the vm heap size from 96m to 128(device stock/default)
I just changed the vm heap size to 128 like you said and unless its a placebo effect :D it worked, thanks for posting that info. Oh and for others if youre looking for a good app I used an app named "Absolute System" its a paid app for $1.99 but it allows the user to edit build.prop, ad block, fonts, bootanimations, terminal emulator, and alot more, Ive had it installed back when I had the Indulge and now its on my Connect and I still love it...

Here is a Link if you want to check it out (Absolute System App)

I am loving this Rom so far. I like the looks of everything and what you have done. The I am loving the theme you are using for the messaging app, and menus and settings. looks real slick.

So far I think I have customized it how I like. I removed Launcher Pro since I had bad experiences from it from way back in my Samsung Galaxy Indulge days, and am using ADW Launcher EX.

I uploaded a couple pics here

Hi, well the day v1.3 came out I decided to just wipe my entire sdcard and start over fresh and see if that fixed my problem It did. I went from 7-8 minute start ups back to 47 seconds. lol. I don't know what caused the problem, something happened when I switched over ROMS. This ROM is so slick and smooth. I've only had reboot since I've had it. I've been stuck in the hospital the past few days and didn't have my computer so I've been using my phone and the only problem I had was with my music player. It keeps foreclosing. I doubt that's a problem with this ROM though. I use n7player music player (somebody was real original in thinking up that name lol) but i remember some problem with my music player when first flashing over Black Plague...I need to go read what it was. Other than that I'm not having any problems whatsoever.

Ladrifta, thank you so much sweetie for all your work on this. I really appreciate all your hard work and the time you put into it.

Anna

Hows this rom vs PG's black plague rom?

I'm getting quite a few reboots from that one, but I think it's related to undervolting in the kernel maybe. Tends to be more when I use the camera flash and battery is around 15% or less.

The other thing is that the way it's set up, it's constantly got the CPU at 1.5Ghz and doesn't scale down at all by default, eating the battery in a few hours (I manage around that with my lg optimizer app for now, Setting it to one core, 192Mhz min, 1088Mhz Max, in that order).

I had quite a few reboots with Black Plague at first but I was overclocking at first. As soon I quit doing that I stopped having constant reboots although I still a few each day. I put v1.3 on my phone the day it came out and I've had only reboot since. I think the major thing I've noticed and maybe it's in my head (that would not be unheard of) it seems I am having longer battery life than I have ever had with this phone. I was working on my book today (yes I am writing one) and I had the music playing on my phone when I looked down and thought, oh crap that has been playing for hours I'm surprised it hasn't died. I looked at it was on 89%. I almost passed out from shock. So either it's the ROM or some of the apps I didn't put back on my phone after I set it back up. I decided if I didn't use an app in the last month there was no need to put it on my phone. If I decided to use it later I knew where to get it lol

I'm using BP too. I fixed the clock speed not sticking issue by using No Frills CPU CONTROL. If you go to the settings and select "prevent changes from other apps" you should be able to over & under clock with no problems. There's another fix too, but it involves either deleting or replacing a file that I personally don't wanna mess with.

I set profiles in setCPU and that seems to do the trick. I've been on #2 for ages and it's an absolutely amazing ROM. I have the extended battery, though it never felt particularly extended until I switched over to this rom, and I'm at the point where I'm hard pressed in a 24 hour day to 30%, and I'm not entirely sure I could kill the battery in 12 if I tried.

I was running 1.1 without issue but no street names guidance with google navigation.

I updated to 1.4 and was very happy to get that street names guidance but battery life is now awful..... 25% less. than with 1.1

Is there anything to do to improve battery life?

I set the CPU to regular for screen-on. 192-388 with screen off, and I cap the speed at 702 for most games, video player, and various other full screen apps that don't really need the power. I also keep my 4G antennae off VIA quick settings unless I actually need to look something up or netflix or whatnot. Like I said up there, I don't think I could kill the battery if I tried. I stopped keeping a cable in my car, and instead leave it at work for any of the other guys.

You don't necessarily need to be on #2 for this this to work, but from before I started really tweaking setCPU, I was doing much better on this than I did with anything else, so there's definitely some underlying benefits to this one. I used to underclock to 756 all the time on BP to come close, and just ignored the lagging, but at this point I'm doing better, and clocked at top speed during regular use, to boot.

FIRST and foremost I would like to give a big THANKS to ldrifta for the support and time he gives to this community. Although I've always been a lurker until now, I feel I must give my appreciation to all developers and testers because I've used this site many time before for information.
My install went smooth and super quick without hiccups.
This ROM is incredible, I can see the difference instantly.

I did however have a problem which I don't know if it is related at all with the ROM and titanium back up. (please correct me if not and I will have this moved to the correct forum) I will try to make this as brief as possible:

-I used the "All in One Script with CWM Touch Recovery" from ChiweN to root and install CWM.
-I then used Titanium backup PRO to make a backup of all apps and data, rebooted into recovery and then used CWM to backup the ROM.
-I installed the "number 2" ROM v1.4 (today shortly before the 1.5 update came out lol) using CWM.
-I then restored all apps+data using titanium back up.

I could restore the LG memo app but not the LG memo Widget (I for some reason love this widget and use it constantly). Titanium Backup pro seems to hang with restoring this widget.

I am perplexed as I looked at my previous CWM and titanium backups (also back up to the pc just for these reasons) and I cannot find it.

Could this happen to be related at all to the ROM? I am still newb on this so I apologize if it is a beaten to death topic. I have tried to search on my issue to no success. I could live without the LG memo Widget if need be but I felt I had to ask in case someone has had the same issue.

Thanks again for the ROM, it's amazing as it is!! I will probably to the 1.5 update tomorrow as soon as I can!

so sorry for the novel... i'll stop typing now

you were on pure stock rooted when you saved these apps? i think it's something to do with odex files.. the stock system is odex'd and a custom rom is de-odex'd i can try to load up the memo app & widget for ya tho ;)

Yeah I was on pure stock root. Just when I thought I had a grasp on things you had to throw out "odex'd and de-odex'ed" terminologies. hahaha no worries now after a little more "guidance" (by ldrifta of course) I was able to research on "odex'd and de-odex'ed". All seems to make sense now.
No need to try and load up the widget though, you guys have done enough by providing such a nice ROM already.

Rooting and Flashing our phones is all about change anyway right (besides I have the original pure stock root ROM backup from CWM if ever needed). I think I am just going to start fresh (with out any bloatware/stock apps of course) and wipe this bad boy clean and install v1.5 later today. I'll just install apps as I need them, HECK I'll probably find a much better memo app/widget in the long run anyway!!

Thanks much for you reply and guidance ldrifta. Keep up the good fight!

Quick question. When i dl the rom, as i was setting up my phone after reboot, it asked me if i wanted to keep the screen on when charging. I said yes but now regret it cause my phone won't charge with the screen on. Even though its connected it will actually discharge. I've tried looking everywhere to disable this but can't find the option. I'm sure its something very easy to find and do but when it comes to the most obvious I always miss it. Thanks

Oh, and thanks ldrifta, the rom is excellent.
