Does anyone actually watch movies/shows on their s3?

depends on the movie theater. The one at our beach house is really cruddy Colin dark screen, sticky floors, uncomfortable seats, and a really crappy sound system. In that case a pair of headphones and my samsung phone make a better alternative. The 1 at home however, is really nice IMAX theater, brand new, comfortable seats, amazing screen and sound.

I watch a lot of video on my devices. I have a Plex Media server setup at home and Netflix account as well as Amazon Instant Video. I usually slip between using my 7 inch tablets, 10 inch tablets, and smartphones. The advantage with streaming is that I can easily pause and pick up on another device as needed. I watch all my video podcasts on my phone usually due to portability. It does better when you hold it in front of your face no more than 18 inches. Tablets you can just set up on the desk and watch them on the side why you're doing something else.

Just hold your S3 2 inches from your face and...bam! Instant freakin' HD digital movie theater without the sticky floor & noisy people!

Sorry, couldn't resist. :D

I use the phone for movies constantly. Everytime I go for a break at work, I'll watch 15-20 minutes of a movie. And believe it or not, I can watch a couple hours of movies and still have 65% battery at the end of the day. I record TV shows on my computer, then use Handbrake to convert them. File size is 600-700 mb and the clarity is exceptional. BTW, handbrake will convert any video file to "phone usable" in about 15 minutes, depending on size of course. I use Act 1 as the player, just because of the little extra features and the "Resume" widget. Although the built in video player has a cool feature of popping the video onto your home screen as a little mini player so you can do other stuff on your phone while the movie/video is playing.

Doesn't seem like the poster was saying that at all. Were you reading the same thing as me?

The thread (that you started) asks if anyone watches movies/shows on the S3. What I see is a bunch of people answering that with their thoughts and comments.

Not sure how that can be turned into liking a 4.8 screen better than a movie screen... it is all about context (for me) since you can't carry around a 60 inch screen in your pocket, or on the train, or to work to watch on break.

Ya feel me?

No but I can see some of these people on the board actually sitting at home, using their s3 instead of the tv thats in front of them, because they think their s3 is the best thing thats happened since sliced bread?

Do you feel me?

Not really.

What people like to do in their homes is their business.

How people feel about their phones is also their business.

You asked a question that was taken honestly at face value and politely responded to by travelers.

Your agenda to show up "people on the board" is not terribly ok here.

Got a problem feeling the lock, drop me a line.
