Hello!

First time posting. About 6 months ago I sold my iPhone and jumped to Android with my Galaxy S3, and I'll never turn back!

I have a couple of questions though. Firstly I'm going to buy the Nexus 4 from the Play Store, but was wandering what time it would go on sale, would it be 00:00? I'm in the UK so if anyone knows then that's be appreciated.

Also is there an easy way to back up my data on the S3 so that when I boot up my Nexus 4 I can instantly get my data back, for example my contacts and images etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Like others have mentioned, if you've been using the contacts app (part of the os) it is automagically saved to the cloud. When you've put in the google account info into the N4, the contacts will be sync'd. If you've been using the google+ app, you'r pictures will be sync'd as well. If you have pics on the SD card that haven't been sync'd, save em to your computer and then you can move 'em to the N4 once you've hooked it up to your computer.

As far as release time, I've read else where, here on the forums, that it'll be "sometime early". Not neccessarily midnight, but not 0800 either. Google hasn't released a time yet (to my knowledge).

I'll be there at midnight UK time with everything crossed!

I'll also be there at midnight, but I don't think we have to worry about them selling out, I've seen no advertising and when talking to people, no one knows about it.
Google ships from Dublin via TNT on the day of ordering. 1 - 2 business days.

When it comes to release times, I wouldn't be surprised if Google releases the device at the same time worldwide ie 00:00 in the westest of America and late in the day for Australia and Japan, maybe not though.

I don't think the time you order will affect too much delivery time

ALL IN EUROPE:

Stefan Keuchel (Google employee) says orders of the N4 will begin around breakfast time in Germany (I assume this is 0730 - 0830)

Germany is one hour ahead of the UK, this would mean and ordering time of 0630 - 0730 (at a guess) ordering time for UK buyers.

He advises that we do not stay up late refreshing the page.

If it is an hour later at 0900 GMT then it will coincide with midnight PST, so possibly early orders for the US?

Here's my dilemma. I'm in Toronto Canada. My buddy is going to Google Headquarters to buy his phone. He will be there for a vacation. He is going on the 21st to the 27th. My question is will i get mine quicker if I order it online or if I get him to pick me one up?
I know. I sound desperate lol

Well assuming they aren't back ordered right away I'm sure you would get it quicker ordering it on-line. Sounds like the soonest you could get it from your buddy would be the 27th, a whole 2 weeks after it goes on sale. I'm going to order mine tonight and hope to have it by Friday, Monday at the latest.
