Best Email and Music App? Anything else?

Tired of waiting for iOS jailbreaks so finally decided to take the Android leap today and ordered an HTC One X *PLUS*. I've seen some past threads from previous iPhone users complaining the mail and music apps sucked on Android. I realize it may depend somewhat on which particular phone but I've seen these comments even for the highly popular Samsung S3.

One thing that is a must have for me on the e-mail is a UNIFIED INBOX. An inbox that shows e-mail for inboxes of multiple e-mail accounts combined into one. I'm not sure if JB with Sense+ does this. Do people recommend either way that I upgrade the e-mail app to something else?

On the Desktop, I've always used Media Monkey instead of iTunes, so I'm no iTunes fanboy, but Media Monkey plays nice with iTunes on the iPhone syncing my playlists and music directly in one operation. Is there a particular music player I should be looking at to install on the HTC or will the stock one work well?

Thanks

1. The stock email app on Android can handle multiple accounts into one unified inbox.

2. mediamonkey can sync directly to Android without any go between software. You don't have to worry about which music player app to use, as they all use the same files anyway. You don't even have to use any software, just plug your phone into your PC and drag the m3u and mp3 files into the phone storage like how you would on a flash drive and it would work fine.

Thanks. I thought it odd people complaining about the email app but I recall that had something to do with connecting to exchange server or something. As an e-mail app isn't a very sophisticated application. Pretty basic functionality.

Same for the music player. Look up song by title, artist, album. Play playlists. Not rocket science. Yet heard complaints the one on the S3 sucked? But again, at least one of those had to do with bluetooth connectivity in their car.

I use an iPod in my car.
