This is more of a retoricle question, just due to the fact this has been the case with motorola for years when it comes to accessories. I have yet to figure out why iphone/apple as soon as a new product comes out theres a boat load of accessories already out on the market. I know that the mfg. give out specs to the aftermarket mfgs so pre development of case's and other things can be done ahead of release of a new product, so why can't motorola or for that matter HTC, etc. do the same. For instance I had a Droid Razr Maxx when it first came out and it took at least 3 to 4 months to find a different case other than what Verizon offers. Now I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD and the same holds true. Is it that Apple has a better marketing department. I know that a iphone is designed for the cell phone impaired people, but come on the Android base system is still out selling apple, and for for a person thats been around the iphone and owned numerous Razrs and Android devise's, the Razr runs circles around any iphone. I tried even getting a Zagg invisasheild and even they don't have one yet, but all kinds of apple crap. [ Gorrilla Glass still scatches ]. I can see why people by apple just due to fact of all the cool accessories that come out. Again I think the marketing dept. at the cell phone mfg. are asleep.

There are boatloads of accessories for iPhones because they individually outsell all other phones. Lots of stuff for Samsung S3 too because sells many millions. I saw a Zagg Invisishield at Best Buy last night for the Maxx HD. I'm going to buy an Incipio Dual Pro case because it looks better than Otterbox Commuter.

The other reason that there are so many accessories for the iPhone is that they are all the same (within each model, of course). So if iPhone sells 50 million new phones when they come out, that's 50 million potential customers for each accessory. Android might sell 50 million phones as well but they will come in hundreds of different sizes and manufactures. So Zagg can make one type of shield and sell 50 million for iPhone. But it would have to make hundreds of other types and only sell a fraction of the amount.

Obviously a simplified example but you get my drift.

Makes it look like a girls wallet or something!

I probably shouldn't say this because I'll jinx myself for sure, but I don't use any type of case! Granted, I'm not a punk kid (51) so my phone stays in my shirt pocket. I don't leave it laying around to get dropped, stolen, whatever.

I had my iPhone 4 (glass front AND back) for over two years and other than a couple scuffs here and there it was pristine. I gave it to my 19-year-old college student son to 'test drive' and it took him all of about two weeks to crack the back glass. Needless to say, he now 'owns' it!

I love the kevlar back as it doesn't show scratches, scuffs (so far) and it has a mild 'grippiness' to it that the iPhone with it's glass front and back did not so it stays in my pocket even when I bend over. I do always put on a cheap mylar front screen protector and replace as needed.

But you couldn't get me to put the Razr HD Maxx in a case - it's too pretty!
