Root Not receiving texts/calls from various

About a month ago or so I had rooted to CM7.2 by following this guide: HTC Evo 4G: Full Update Guide - CyanogenMod Wiki

The only problem I had was getting S-Off, and right now it reads:
Unlocked
S-On

Since then, Ive put Lewa OS rom on. Aside the point, when on CM7.2 I was unable to receive calls from various people. Though, I could call them, it would send them straight to voicemail. Again, not ALL people, just a few. The same went for text messages. Most people I was able to receive texts from, but not all. This happened when on CM7.2; this past friday I had applied Lewa OS in hope it would fix some issues. Well, some people that were not able to call me on CM7, were now able to call me. But now it seems I can not receive anyones texts, though they can receive them from me.

In another forum, someone said reflash to Sense and update prl and profile, but had no instructions on how. Im not sure if the assumption is that I need to go all the way back to stock? I tried to use the RUU exe but that keeps getting stuck at the HTC screen 14% (yes, I waited for over an hour).

Sorry about your calls/texting issues but I have a few questions if you don't mind

I have not heard of the Lewa rom? Where did you find that rom?
And are you wiping properly? What recovery do you have.
You could make a nandroid backup of your current phone state, flash a Sense rom like MikG3.11, update prl and profile, then nandroid restore from your backup and the settings will stick.

It is not necessary to flash an ruu.
Can you post what your bootloader screen says now?
I know, alot of questions....sorry, but it will help with some more info ya know?

Honestly, I will so no, I am not wiping properly... up until I reloaded Lewa OS and restore today. (At least I think I wipred properly) Here is the last thing I've done today and where I stand currently:
Clockwork Recovery v5.0.2.2
- Wipe data/fact reset
- wipe cache part
- Wipe Dalvik
- Wipe batt stats
- Partitioned to 1024/(i dont remember the 2nd one off top of my head)
- Install zip from card > lewa os (via link above)

Okay, Ill search for MikG3.11 and install that.
Question to that is... every time I install a new rom or restore, should I be wiping and partitioning? I've never been clear on the steps and why they need to be done.

No need to partition every time, once partitioned, always partitioned.
I would highly recommend getting rid of that recovery because it has been know to be buggy and not wipe properly.

I'll provide you with a link to install Amon Ra recovery and Mikg...stand by..

Click on the "HTCDEV" method and skip to step 2 "how to get recovery"
You can install it one of 3 ways. If you choose the ADB method, you will have to download these files:
adb.exe
fastboot.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
HTC Sync 3.0.5551
Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

If you do not have them....they are listed there also...for the first 3 files, just download them and put them in a folder you create on your desktop named "Android" --for example
The other 2, download and run them.

You can also choose the pc36img method, which is easy also, just follow the directions closely.

After your new recovery, you can go to step 3.
You will see a link for MikG3.11...a sense rom.

If you choose not to change your recovery now, wipe very well...like 3 times each...then flash the rom.

If you are not clear on anything, just ask!!

I just wiped, flashed super..., then flashed mikg (its actually still going)
But.. this will be a rom of Sense? Then Ill be able to prl and profile update?
If that assumption is correct, I do want to go back to Lewa OS (as I was enjoying it), I have backed it up.
Do I need to wipe and then flash to Lewa OS then do restore? (is flash the correct word?)
Or can I just flash to my backed up files?

Yes MikG3.11 is a sense rom.
You can just go into it without signing into google, update prl and profile.
Did you install the Amon recovery? Just curious.

Then go back into recovery, you can wipe again, then nand. restore your backup to Lewa. You said you nandroid backed it up yes? Just restore that backup.
No need to flash Lewa like you did when you first flashed it because you just backed it up (nandroid backup)
A nandroid backup is a snapshot of the current state of your phone.
Kinda like a restore point on a computer, or a save point on a game.

) Im not going to get off this rom til a few things are resolved that Ive had problems with.
Text and the calls, 2ndly gmail not notifying (thought sync is checked).

I was able to send a text and confirm they got it. But they have sent one, and I have not received it yet....(4min ago from this being posted).
Edit: Sent a text from my work phone to my evo, 2min ago, have not received.
2xEdit: sent text from evo to my work phone, received on work phone.

Had the same person call me, and it worked.

Have you updated prl and profile yet? Have you signed into google?

Ah okay. Yes, yes, and yes. Infact, I just rebooted and updated prl and profile again. About to try texts again... My email notifications are coming in which werent prior. So I am happy on that.

Edit: Still a no go on receiving texts, but able to send. GRRRR!

Just for giggles, download Gosms from the play store and try that app

Ive tried a handful of different SMS apps, including GO, handscent, stock sense/cm/lewa.

Could it be something with my provider (sprint)? I've had similar problems in the past, but Im unsure...

That was going to be my next suggestion to do while you were on the sense rom.
Just no need to mention you are rooted tho, they might blame it on that.

And you can tell them you did a factory reset already (which you did when you flashed MikG)

So, right now, you are not receiving texts correct?

Could S-On be preventing? Of the 2 phones that I tried getting texts are on ATT carrier. Maybe something with signatures and these custom roms? Ive tried turning S-Off in the past, but no success...

No, nothing with s-on or s-off would be an issue

Yea, and some calls. They said there was a service issue with texts last week, but this has been going on since I had rooted then went to CM7 about a month ago. I feel that its just incoming text/calls from ATT users... and I can verify 3 users are ATT.

Just a little update for any lurkers and Mikestony...
I chatted with sprint online and there is a network related problem - ticket 9513050

We did how ever re-activate my phone, but still have the same problems. They claim this ticket will be resovled by tomorrow at 7AM. I guess I will wait til then, otherwise I am unsure what I will do from this point. Anyone have suggestions?
