Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you MidnightRom

This ROM consists of the best tweaks, modifications, and optimization's to make the fastest, most stable rooted stock ROM out there!

Before installing this ROM, I HIGHLY suggest you take a look at this thread do everything it says. http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-a...ng-turning-your-phone-into-evo-3d-thread.html

The included goomanager app automatically notifies you when there is a new ROM update! It uses virtually no memory at all, and updates can be downloaded directly from within the app!

(Be sure to check the change log for full info!)

If you do not have S-OFF, you WILL HAVE TO flash the boot.img file in fastboot at each update, as the kernel is almost always updated with each new version of MNR. Not doing this will cause issues with wifi, 4g, bluetooth, and lots of other things.
Instructions are followed
How to install MidnightRom if you do not have S-OFF:

First of all you need to have fastboot & adb installed, as well as the drivers for the evo 3d. See This Thread for more information.

Step 1:
Download the latest version of MidnightRom (or the version you want to use), put it on your phone, and install it using recovery.

Step 2: Extract the MidnightRom zip file on your computer. Take the boot.img file that is in the extracted folder and put it in C:\android\platform-tools\ (or wherever you have your platform-tools for the adb at)

Step 3: Reboot your Phone into the bootloader
This can either be done by powering off your phone, then pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons.

Make sure it says "Fastboot USB" highlighted in red. If not, select the fastboot option.

Step 4: Test if it your device has been detected with the following command:

Code:
fastboot devices

Step 5:
Execute this command

Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Step 6:

Reboot your phone using this command

Code:
fastboot reboot

I recommend wiping everything before installing an update instead of just flashing over a new zip. This usually fixes common problems.

First boot will take a few minutes

If you have any problems, questions, suggestions, etc, do not be afraid to ask!! =]

Big thank you to Leslie Ann, Chad Goodman, and jmz! Without their help, this rom wouldn't be possible

Hi again,

I just recently upgraded my brand new HTC EVO V 4G to the Midnight ROM 1.3.5.
This ROM is great and resolved all of the problems I was having which almost led to my sending the phone back. I have, however, run into a few very "strange", minor issues that you may be able to help me with.
- When I reboot the phone while the USB is plugged in recharging, the phone "hangs" at the white HTC screen. This does not happen if I do the same while running without the USB connected.
- I have been unable to get the PRL updated to 60690 using QPST (my current version is 61009) as suggested in the EVO 3D thread. Everything appears to work following the instructions, with the exception of one error message that I understood from the instructions I could ignore but my PRL version remains at 61009.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody know why I can't overclock my cpu past 1.72 GHz even though I have JMZ EVO V Kernel installed, and it supports up to 1.94 GHz. When I set it to performance mode with 1.94 GHz in kernel tuner it shows that the current clock is 1.728 GHz.

Just curious why you would ever have to overclock it that high. I run anthrax over clocked to1404 with absolutely no lag.

I tried manually flashing kernel 3.7.0 yesterday, and CPU1 refused to turn on, and sweep2wake order was backwards and wouldn't change...
Hopefully just a bad flash or something.
Either way, keep up the good work. Only addition that would be nice is if you could get it Playstation Certified.

This kinda seems like a bug, battery stats to change over night. First 2 images are after checking it in the morning, shows no drainage overnight even with the wifi turning on towards the end. Rebooted the phone, dropped to 87%, pulled battery and it shows 92% and that's the third image.

Yeahhh...3.7.0 has some bugs. I actually reverted it to 3.6.7 instead.

I've been using 3.7 without any issues so far, also has the 1.3.6 version of the rom been released yet, Goo manager is not showing it. As always I appreciate your work and glad to see xthedakmanx back at work on my personally favorite daily driver.

New update is up!

Notice!
Sprint has released some phone updates (as of this posting, which is 11/21/2012), including software and firmware updates. It's highly reccommended that, along with this rom (which has the other sprint updates integrated) that you also update your phone's firmware.
To do so, simply download this
Goo.im Downloads - Downloading PG86IMG.zip
Put it in the root of your sd card (Do not extract anything from this. Just download and put it straight on there)
Power off your phone, hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time, and it should do the rest! Just accept the update and you'll be good to go!
(If nothing happens, make sure you select bootloader)

Does it matter which order we do them in?

I've been using that radio for months now. I'd actually like to know what the update does... My radio, hboot, and prl are all still the same.

If you look at Leslie Ann's how to turn your phone into a evo 3d that radio has been around for a while now.

yup! you're right buddy my radio always has been 1.09.00.0706 after turning your phone into an Evo 3d, so whats new now?

I wasn't sure what was suppose to change at all though

I don't think Dak updated the build.prop but it doesn't hurt anything.
