ok guys i am in the market to buy a Android Tablet. Currently i am liking the Samsung Note 10.1. Its beast imo... but its going to br a Christmas present so i want to go all out on this lol...

I am looking for Video quality... nothing smaller then a 10" screen... I want Android 4.1 on it if i can. I would like to be able to have a HDMI output as well if possible.. I want all the bells and whistles but when it comes to tablets i am lost... i dont know whats coming out before Christmas, i dont know the common problems with them...

can anyone recommend something that is "better then the Note 10.1" or something that is coming out.. also a side by side spec comparison would be great if someone can link... i been looking but i just cant find anything

thanks in advance

Nexus 10. Boom. Problem solved. Highest res screen on a tablet right now, excellent processor, cheap price, HDMI output, lots of goodies. Only drawback is a lack of expansion storage, but they do have a 32 GB option as well as good old cloud storage and USB OTG to help alleviate that minor issue for those who keep a lot of things on their devices.

For a little more information, I checked the comparison on the 10.1 and Nexus 10 here goes:

Overall dimensions for the tablets are about the same.

Obviously, Nexus 10 has a better screen with about twice the screen resolution and pixel density. The Nexus 10 also has scratch resistant glass, 10.1 does NOT.

The Nexus 10's battery is about 2000 mah bigger at a total of 9000 mah.

Both have the same RAM at 2 GB but the Nexus 10 RAM is twice as fast, the Nexus 10 has a dual core 1.7 GHz processor while the Note has a quad core 1.4 GHz processor however, the Nexus 10 is an A15 architecture which means all things considered, their performance should be near equal with an edge to the Nexus 10. The Nexus 10 is also sporting a Mali-T604 compared to the Mali-T400 in the Note 10.1, so once again, the Nexus 10 will take this round too.

Both have 5 MP back cameras with the Nexus 10 sporting a 1.9 MP in the front while the Note has a 2 MP. However, the Note maxes at 720p recording while the Nexus 10 can go full 1080p.

Both have all the basics: Wifi, GPS, multiple codec support, gyroscope, etc. The only differences here are the fact that the Nexus 10 uses Bluetooth 3.0 compared to the Note's 4.0. However, 4.0 isn't widely adopted yet so you could encounter issues with it.

The Note does have the S-Pen, Wifi Direct, the Nature UI, and MHL.

The Nexus on the other hand has NFC, Android 4.2 (stock) with the fastest updates, a barometer, and micro HDMI.

That should give you a more accurate comparison of the two.

I have a Note 10.1 and a Nexus 7. The 10.1 has been regulated down to reading magazines on occasion. The S-Pen was cool for about an hour and then I got bored with it. Fingers are much easier. I did use it to take notes in class but I couldn't figure out how to change the thickness on the pen so I abandoned it.
