Just bought S3, but the N2 still calls...

Yesterday I bought the S3 with upgrade for $50, but intending to buy the Note 2 if they could match Walmart's price. Bestbuy couldn't find the N2 on the Walmart site (they're ******ed) so I settled on the S3 since it was much cheaper.
The S3 is nice ,but the battery life sucks and I notice the occasional micro stutter.
I can't get the Note 2 out of my head and have 30 days to decide if I want to keep the S3.
Is the Note 2 worth the hassle of returning the S3 and spending a few hundred more?
Convince me, I'm torn. She calls me. :dontknow:

I have both. The gs3 is a top notch device with lots of support at present. However, it's hard to deny the quad core g-note II with 3100 mah battery. No stuttering or lack of power here. Buttery smooth and fast as lightnin. Battery life is more than adequate. I use the note II exclusively now. If you have the $$, and have your doubts, it's better to take care of the wants now instead of later. It's a decision only you can make, but I've been more than happy with the g-note II.

Note 2 is better, obviously, but it sounds like the cost is what is swaying your decision. I'd advise to get the best you can afford because you have to keep it for 18+ months. On Black Friday I turned away a $30 GS3 upgrade so I can use my upgrade to get a $299 Note 2 that isn't even released on Verizon yet. I am hoping it was a wise move. Time will tell.

I will probably see if the Note 2 goes on sale during the holiday season. Maybe $249 or $199. The $299 would be the most I've ever spent on a phone.

I really really really wanted the Note 1 but was not willing to switch carriers for it. I hoped beyond hope that Sprint would get it but as time went on, it became clear they weren't. When the S3 was announced that was going to be my next device until Note 2 rumors started swirling about.

I had plenty of time on my hands and once it had been unofficially officially announced :D there was no phone that could tempt me to stray from the Note 2. I wanted this phone so bad that at 6 a.m. launched day I was already planted at the store.

I say if you can afford it, go for the Note 2; you won't be disappointed.

Keep in mind that a post like this on the Note 2 forum is going to automatically be biased towards the N2.

As for your battery concerns, my experience with my wife's & others S3's get overall great battery life. Yours might not be up to par with most - it happens. Also, your phone is new & the battery life has not maxed out yet. Usually during the first week, it'll keep getting better & better.

The stutter that you speak of will most likely get smoothed out once Jelly Bean hits the S3, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Jelly Bean will also bring some Note features to the S3, but without the S-Pen you won't be able to make full use of them. And no, the S-Pen does not work on the S3, I've tried.

If cost is a major concern, stay with the S3. If you really want all of the features the the N2 has to offer, stretch a little & get it. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Answer the call ;) I like the SIII as it's a great little phone however, after using the Note 2 for a couple weeks, I could never see myself with a SIII. The Note 2 is just magnificent in every way. I've gotten so accustomed to the screen size that every other phone on the market just looks like crap now. Once they can get the screen to 1080p resolution, this will be outstanding. Seriously, just get the Note 2, you won't regret it.

Amazon has it for only $250 assuming you're an AT&T user.

I've had both the S3 and the N2.N2 has better battery life and I really enjoy the S-pen more then I thought I would.

Did you just copy/paste part of my reply? LOL

I hope not as both phones are great.

Agreed. Before these 2 phones, I never really considered Samsung.

If you notice (most of) the responses, they sway towards the N2. That's just naturally gonna happen in a N2 forum. Ask the same question in an S3 forum & most likely the opposite will happen. No one here was down-talking the S3, just not recommending it. I just wanted to point that out to the OP & to give a slightly different point of view.

I weighed the differences between the 2 for a while before deciding on the N2. To me, it has too much not to get it. But if I did find it to be too big, too expensive, etc., I'd already be carrying an S3 instead of still waiting for VZW to release the N2. SOON! :D

I was originally buying an SG3. My cousin and her girlfriend had both purchased them and really liked them. But then my friend turned me onto the Note 2 (I had forgotten my love of the Note 1 commercial). As soon as I looked it up, I immediately switched from the SG3 to the Note 2.

It comes Thursday and I can't wait. I got to handle a promo one at Best Buy (fake one). I thought at first it might be too big, but after holding it compared to the SG3, I was in love. I can't wait!
