Verizon Note 2 Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Then stop crying about it!

No one is talking about you NOT getting the phone. We are talking about if it will ship on the date promoted by Verizon or earlier.

As I've said before, I hope all of you (even you) get yours early. But if others get theirs before you, don't get upset about it.

And no there are no lines but there appears to be limited supply which increases demand and makes the pre-order even easier and more of a sure bet.

You can't always have your cake and eat it too.

I'm not crying about it actually. I haven't mentioned anything about getting a phone. I was just pointing out what I thought was a flaw in your reasoning.

No one who preorders will be "upset" at people who get it early. Everyone hopes everyone (even you) will get it early. They'll be miffed though at Verizon for not having a unified release date and enforcing it like a video game launch. Preorders guaranteed Verizon money and gave them warning of the number of devices they'd need. People who preordered therefore feel that they should be at the least given the phone the same day that stores have them. That is all.

Chill out man. I think he just means it would be a shame for us to have to wait even longer than opposed to just walking into the story and buying one considering we committed to giving money to Verizon in advance. It's not so much about wishing others won't get it before us, but more like a knock on Verizon for not taking care of their pre-orderers before taking care of their general stock. It's a legitimate complaint if it did happen, but it rarely does so I don't think there's anything to worry about either way.

And thank you that's exactly what I meant. VZW lost a lot of iPhone users for how botched their 5 release was. People in stores received guaranteed phones while the earliest preorders for their orders canceled due to a glitch

People say how they feel and I have to believe that is how he really feels.

Here's what I do not understand... Verizon said it would ship by the 27th. And those who pre-ordered basically said, "That is OK and sounds good to me." Now that rumors are that it may hit early (which it may or may not), some are upset that they may not get their phone until the 29th... the original date.

I'm not going to waste my time on it as I hope to see many of my fellow AA members with a Vermilion GN2 tomorrow.

You're entitled to your opinion, which was wrong in this case lol.

The "original date" was never really original. We preordered this phone with no mention of release date originally.

What I would be upset with is people getting their preorders canceled or a delay in receiving their phones and people in store getting it day one, hour one. That pretty much invalidates the purpose of a preorder. No one said anything about getting it early

We pre-order with the expectation that we will get one even if it sells out, and that we will have it at the same time as the stores, or possibly earlier (my brother got his S3 five days before the in-store release). To get the device to the pre-order people AFTER the in-store release, would not make any sense at all. Pre-order customers are the ones who are the most interested in the device and have shown the highest level of commitment to purchasing the device. We don't expect to be punished by having to wait 2 extra days - that's all.

I would say the people lining up in the cold at 5am in front of Verizon stores and standing in line over 5 hours this morning in hopes of getting one are a bit more interested and have a higher level of commitment to the device then someone who clicked a few buttons from home to order one :) Sorry to disappoint you but there will be a lot of people getting a Note 2 before you do. I never pre order.

That sounds good in theory. Many Nexus 7 pre order customers got their tablets after they'd been released to stores. Many people were trying to cancel their pre order so they could just walk in the store and grab one but Google said no.

Also with pre orders they can start shipping and not have enough to send out to all those who pre ordered and those folks will end up getting theirs when the next batch goes out.

In this paticular case your statement would be incorrect. Release is on the 29th and people will be receiving their preorders on the 29th as well. Everyone will get their phones on the same day.

I preordered mine yesterday, the 26th, and the rep told me they weren't shipping until the 29th. I asked if that was supposed to be the release date and when I would receive it and she said they haven't been told a release date and that's the day it would ship. I received my conf email and the ship date says the 26th. Talk about confusing

Agreed. The only difference is that you will be able to get the device and few hours earlier by walking into a store versus waiting for your delivery but both will be same day. Also, walking into a store won't guarantee your color choice just in case one color is selling a lot more than the other...... Just maybe they could sell out of your color choice.

When I log into Amex I don't see the charge on the recent activity, but if I click "pending charges", Verizon shows up. I'm assuming that's a good thing? I check my status online using the email i got way back when I preordered and it says

Status: Your order is currently being processed. Please check back tomorrow.

I guess it doesn't matter, since I will be out of town so either way I won't be able to play until I get back on Friday...

Just checked my order status over the phone and it has shipped to arrive on Thursday! If anyone is concerned call *611, the website is telling me there are technical difficulties and to check back later. I also called the store where I ordered it and they said the shipment request is sent, which means it's on it's way!

My AMEX is pending, it says it's shipping out today. And it's pending from Warren, NJ (I live near Flemington, NJ) so I'm wondering if it ships today, could it be here even tomorrow? Warren is right down the road.

They need to ship that sucker, I'm going insane. :p

I bet they'll ship to a large distribution center in another city then send it to you. If I remember correctly, FedEx HAS to take two days to get to you when you preorder phones from Verizon.
