Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Jelly Bean Update

if you mean you spoke to a metro pcs rep from either 611 or dialing *490 im sorry but those reps are notorious in giving out false info. Not saying there is 0% chance.... but lets face it took them almost a whole year after ics was out for other carriers to get a phone with ics " the lg motion" i believe lol so there might be right about jellybean for metro in almost another year. I suspect keylime pie will be out for every1 else by then. not sure, but thats usually the scenario with metro, always 1 step behind!

Too add to the subject, look how long it took for the ascend to get 2.2 update for metro, but we was on cm7 for months by than. ;)

Yeah I never had an ascend but I remember those days im sure if enough people demand the update through the Facebook page they will deliver any request or complaints are handle nicely in their Facebook page

Okay today I decided to do something crazy, instead of changing anything in the other carrier roms just flash it and guess what it works. All this days I wasted trying to port it and they did not boot because of our kernel, I used the sprint roms and they all boot fine. Ofcourse calling texting and data wont work without changing lots of values. But in serenity rom calling work out of no where randomly. So if anyone have lots of time and wants to mess around you can try that just keep a backup in cwm or twrp.

Yup all were jellybean and they were touch wiz not cm or aokp. Just wanted to try them out since no one tried any jellybean based touchwiz ROM. I have a feeling we won't see any official update for some long long time. So I hope chiewn is doing great with the porting I mean this works good from other carrier except for phone service and data

Well I tried couple of the ROMs. Serena ROM is actually a port of note 2 jellybean so has some of the cool features. All of them ran but no data or connectivity at all I replaced the APN but nothing needs more programming changed like literally. In the hidden menu u have to change all the sprint programming to metropcs I will try that soon as I can lol tomorrow I got a final speech for college and I'm very scared and nervous already. Lol so I wouldn't recommend flashing yet. But if u want to make sure to backup your nv n4zy wrote a nice guide follow that and you will be all good to go.

but touchwiz with jelly bean is kinda differnt than others so overal the new touchwiz seems cool

Yup love the touch wiz 5 on gs3. The stock feel is very nice, and jellybean is good ng to bring smoothness, and few cool featured like multi window, pop up browser, well I don't really like the new notification system in jellybean but the block feature is great. I will stay with the touchwiz as long as I have this phone

I have read rumors on the main S3 forum here that a few people are reporting that their external SD cards are being destroyed after a few months on S3s...and someone mentioned it might have something to do with running ICS on the S3. So I'm kind of eager to get JB asap since I just got a new large memory card last week...even though this all could be a coincidence/paranoia.

It's all FUD. It's not the s3. It's because the cards are new, and buggy. they break on other phones too. check Amazon reviews. ;)
Now it does help to get authentic Sandisk/Kingston uhs-1 cards to curb the problem, but apparently knockoffs of those are also filling the online marketplaces aplenty, and you might think you're getting the good stuff, but end up getting stuffed!
