Help Flashing Warp to Cricket?

Let me first start by saying hello, and thanks for the forum. I have found it helpful.

I have been an android user now going on 3 years. I am recently leaving AT&T after 10 years because I am fed up with the contracts and their bull. So I decided to go no contract after a friend raved about it after leaving Verizon. They said Boost is the best, so I decided to go with Boost. This past Black Friday, they ran a special on the Warp for $64. I thought it was a good deal, and the guys at Best Buy pretty much said this phone is one of the better ones on Boost. Thus far, I really like this phone, and is potentially my best Android to date (I have had a Galaxy and a Motorola). I have already rooted the phone, and plan on trying some of the mods here soon. Fast speed, (faster than the Galaxy I had actually) although the display and camera lacks.

Well, phone aside, I am now having trouble with Boost's service where I work. It is a brick building, inside a brick room. I get NO bars there. I was told to turn on wi-fi to get some more, while I was able to go from 0 to like a half a bar, still not enough to keep from missing calls. I kind of like this phone, so I am wondering has anyone tried this phone on Cricket. I am thinking of flashing it to their network because everyone on Cricket is able to get reception in the building. Other Boost (and Sprint) customers claimed they get no reception either. Naturally, AT&T and Verizon is getting service, but I do not want to bark up ATT's tree again.

Please tell what is a good option, or how can I boost signal to get it in the building.

cricket is the same as boost i had them before they started in a city called columbus ga which is where im from they also use sprint towers just like boost the only differences is cricket will allow you to roam(but there roaming is still on sprint they open more towers for you on sprint network and charge you crazy for it which is what changing your prl does for you just leting you know)i would just stick with boost it really gets better service in the long run this is just my two cents and no there not free so im gonna need them back seeing im running low lol

p.s you can go to walmart buy this tower booster i dont remember the name of it but it does work great and its only 100 dollars it works inside brick building, steal building, and out in the country

YAY!!!!!!:D

Thanks again. :D

This 60687 PRL is faster than the boost, and I gained one bar at work that fades to none, then an X then it repeats. It's progress from nothing, but still not enough to right home. I am going to try some more prls at work. I am around Wi-Fi all day, so long as I can get some phone service, I can sacrifice faster speeds. But too, when I am not around WiFi, the internet seemed to move as fast as my ATT did:thinking:

I am still ticked the folks on Cricket are getting reception though...

Well, I have tried a few of these flashes, they are helping, but again, not enough. While Boost is good when it is working, I am comparing maps, and in my area (Memphis) around where I work, it is showing on Boosts maps that the coverage is weak, however on Cricket, it is showing strong, which explains why Cricket folks are getting reception.

I guess, it is a plus that my house is in a strong coverage area, 5 bars and full 3g all the time!

I am strongly considering flashing this Warp over to Cricket now or getting a Verizon Wireless phone flashed over to cricket because of that.

Thanks again. I will more than likely check and see if flashing this phone will screw up my warranty with Best Buy, if it doesn't, I am going to move it to the cricket network, so I am not gone!

I ask because from what I understand its not just the prl you would have to change to have this phone on the Cricket network because Cricket has roaming and the Boost ROM itself is not desinged to roam... so it would be no easy task as you would have to flash the phone to a variation of the Public mobile ROM tweaked to work on Cricket and thats only if they agree to activate your device to begin with...

Confirmation that I need to stay on Boost or sign another contract. I talk with my best friend (the one that talked me off of ATT and on to Boost) and she was telling close to the same thing. So I would end up, in essence, buying another phone because I would lose features flashing my warp. Which sucks because I like this phone.

Now I do know that the Cricket Corporate store here in Memphis will flash ANY CDMA phone, and there are some independent agents that can flash Sprint phones to Boost and Vice Versa, but like you said, it would still screw me up on coverage.

I think I will just ride Boost out, and if I leave, I will just order a Galaxy S from somewhere and go to T-Mobile prepaid, and if that sucks, ultimately just sign a contract and shut-up.
