Lads, quick question as i don`t know did i made some mistake or thats the way it is with PhilZ but when i flash new ver of kernel in Settings>ABout Device i dont see any diffrence in kernel section (numbers and letters are same since flash of JB). I checked in recovery as well under About section and there is a change of compilation(26/11) but for instance not 3.71 but 3.38.
Before flashing new ver of kernel i always use Hawkers KernelWiper and then flash kernel... Is it the way it is that there is no more info ? When on ICS after flashing new kernel there was always new info about what ver it is ad thats what bothers me...

Another quick question lads.... When battery is below 50% (f.e. 48%) and i go into recovery it drops to 13%... It happend 3 times already, always before flashing new ver of PhilZ kernel.
I was wondering is it just me or thats a bug in kernel/rom/cwm ?

one of the drawbacks of our our fuel gauge chip I'm afraid.
It never needs calibrating, but it can lose sight of its level on a power off.
if you leave the phone on idle after such a drop you will notice the level actually start to creep back up again until its at the correct level.

In the immortal words of Run DMC...."It's like that, and that's the way it is"

Never tried that tbh, neither i heard of this info

btw Run DMC... good old days ;)

ps. I really can`t complain on battery life apart from that story. I listen to music much and when using PowerAmp it consumes way less battery than on ICS.

I promised myself that I would wait until a NEAT Rom version of an official JB release came out before flashing, but late one night after a few beers and mix up between Hawkers rom and kernel wipes... the decision was made!

Have to say, I am very impressed. It's the smoothest my UI has ever been. It works faultlessly and there are plenty of additions that make this the most user friendly Android yet. At first I was a little alarmed with the battery drain, but let it even out over a few days and it is perfectly fine. Spend some time with Better Battery Stats, Titanium Backup and the two spreadsheets outlining which processes can be frozen (mentioned by Ironass) and you can further fine tune this rom with some great results.

In the past, I was guilty of flashing every version of Siyah as it came out and when Dorimanx came along, every version of that too in the hope of getting that little bit extra out of my battery. In reality they gains are minor and we probably waste the majority of our battery life by flashing, fine tuning and fiddling around anyway. If used for calls, email, music etc on a daily basis etc then Philz kernel/stock is more than adequate.

One little bugbear... not too keen on the movement of the ext sd in the folder structure. That's being picky though.

I would like to thank Sale for his continued release of excellent Roms and mods for the S2. I am skipping the S3 in the belief that the S2 has a longer shelf life than is expected in the world of fast paced phone development and it's great to see a developer stick around also. The Android community is very lucky to have him and I hope he doesn't plan on moving to pastures new too soon! Great developer, many thanks.

No news for official jelly bean firmware? It's already December by the end of the day. :(

Won't happen I'm afraid, my theory is that once Samsung realised they could not have a "finished" jb release they released the "leak" to keep the S2 community occupied while they get their sh*t together. The Note has a leak firmware released also, for the same reasons I'm sure. I won't be holding my breath for an official release until 2013...

For the last couple of days (could have been longer) i've been getting the following error message in the play store...

Unknown error code during application install -110

Anyone had this?

Have had this happen a couple of times but usually I just retry a couple of times and it installs. Not sure if it's a Rom issue or just Play messing around.

Tried clearing data in Settings > Application Manager > All > Google Play Store?

the google play store app looks to be empty :O

storage
total 0.00b
application 0.00b
etc

this leaves clear data greyed out :S

EDIT: In fact all apps are shown with 0.00b in all fields. All other apps work properly (google reader, facebook, gmail) even with this 0.00b showing

I'm a swype man through and through
You and I both. Although I will say I'm not fond of the recent beta, and prefer the previous version. I don't like how it loads a different page when I want to add a word to the dictionary. It used to be able to do it right in a text message. Makes it feel clunky now.

I've been running the NeatROM for a couple weeks now. I was really happy, but my phone has been acting up in the past week. Saying it's charging when it's not, poor battery life, etc. After some reading, it seems I need to replace the board that the USB port is on. Although I have noticed something else wrong, but I didn't see it listed in anything I read about this problem.

When I receive a text message, my screen will stay illuminated until I either unlock it, or press the power button to put it back to sleep. Has anyone else experienced this? Just curious if this could also be tied to the issue with my USB board. Sucks that I have to order a part and take my phone apart :(. I think an N4 may be in my hands come January, if I can find one that is lol.

Thanks all :)

I ve had the same problem with the USB port. You might want to try cleaning it first, with an oldttoothbrush. I'd had the problem for a week or so and cleaned it a couple of times, but still had the same problem - then it suddenly went back to working properly. I presume the dirt had worked loose in this time. So give it a go and bear with it.

Thanks for the reply. I have some rubbing alcohol and will give it a try. Did you use any, or did you just stick the old toothbrush in dry to clean it?

Thanks

Never had this problem myself, but on the basis of liquids and electricity not mixing well I would try it dry first and then only if it doesn't work try with something like tape head cleaner fluid or even better proper circuit board cleaner.

Salesale the multi window mod is simply superb, and the ink effects are beautiful. Once again, Thank You. :)
