Root [Verizon] Completely lost on rooting..

ok so rooting seems to be pretty simple, but how would one go about flashing a ROM? we cant use clockworkmod? on my droid x it was as simple as going into CWM recovery, selecting the ROM on the sd card, and flashing. Is it not that simple on the gs3?
Yes, it is that simple except you have to follow the instructions provided by the ROM developer, you should always backup your entire phone first in case the ROM doesn't work out, and you have to know what you're doing because as was said in "Forrest Gump", "shit happens."

thanks i appreciate the help!!

i wanted to pick your brains some...

If im on stock vzw ICS, can i just root and flash a JB rom?
For a stock JB experience, with the best performance and battery life, which rom do you suggest?

i always root with a stock pre-rooted ODIN flash and go from there...as for "best performance and battery life" there is no such thing...every phone reacts to software differently...

you could run a completely stock rooted version of the latest leak if you wanted..

Yea I was going to do the same, just flash a pre-rooted odin flash. Up to there I believe I will be ok, but after I am rooted and unlock the bootloader, flashing a custom rom is where I am a bit lost.
I would have to save the custom rom onto my phones sd card, boot into recovery (by the way do i need a custom recovery?), and flash the rom correct? May I ask which ROM u are running?

Is there such things as a stock rooted JB rom? with all the goodies such as google now?

rooted and running synergy!

Im at work so I havent explored JB yet, but looks awesome so far. Ill have to buy you buds a beer :)
Slight gripe so far is, in the notification bar the words seem to be misaligned under the toggles. Is this just because synergy r125 isnt an official yet?

edit: made a back up of synergy and am running cleanrom 5.0
So far so good, very clean rom
