If you want the discounted price yes- Or you could pay full retail with no contract

Ok, that makes more sense. The way everyone was saying it, it seemed like you could show them the price of your NE2, and they would sell you the phone. Someone said they didn't honor it so then I thought you could just get the phone and still have the upgrade on the account.

Didn't get the whole signing a new contract thing.

My bad.

I believe this can get our thread shut down. Or so I'm told : paranoid eyes, left to right, back to left:.:thinking:

maybe if I wear these... they cant see me

Probably should take down the post

peace, love and harmony. :p

I'm not saying to harass them. Personally, I feel like we can influence (a little) how VZW promotes and handles this phone. We probably already have. And we can raise awareness among other VZW customers, further selling the phone. VZW needs to know that high end phones are what they need to stock and focus on.

Well, I too have decided to come out of the shadows! ;)

Let me just say this is one of the most important places on the Internet now for me for a month now. Since November, I have been searching for a replacement for my aging LG Dare, but then it was water-damaged and I use a Motorola W385 that is also damaged. Since my contract was not finished, I wasn't satisfied with paying one-year pricing on a phone I would be stuck with for twenty months. Droid was clunky, but admirable for having a physical keyboard (which I thought I would enjoy more than a touchscreen one). I preferred the Eris...except for the screen size. When the Nexus One came out, I decided to wait to see if the Eris would be upgraded to 2.1 when the Incredible was leaked. Finally- prayers had been answered.

Since then, HTC Desire had come out and cemented my desire, so to speak, for the Incredible with its improvements with Sense...although the wait has been long. Since Verizon decided to discontinue their policy of one-yr. pricing with injured phones, twice I have been able to ensure this...but now I cannot be guaranteed this pricing so the Droid Eris was verrryyy tempting. Nevertheless, the Verizon employees assured me I should actually wait for the Incredible and they would 99% make it likely I would get one-yr. pricing on it as soon as release.

*sigh* Well, that story is over! Time for the Incredible, Verizon! (That is, if you want that $30 data fee added onto my line, which you know you do! BTW- thanks Montana Man for the info!)
Glad you came out of hiding! Welcome!

I was at Best Buy the other day - the rep told me that they get Verizon phones later (for example he told me they got the Droid a month after it was available from Verizon). Is this true? And if it is true, it would suggest that the incredible will be available to purchase directly from Verizon at an earlier date than the 25th.

not always BB had the Devour first- Just depends I guess

Prime difference between a Sales guy and a Marketing guy is that the Marketing guy KNOWS when he is lying.

Thanks AGAIN MM! :) The people that dont believe you.....bend over and have them kiss your ass! Youve been such an amazing person here and you deserve way more respect than some people on here give you. I can rest easier for the rest of the month knowing I'll have my first smartphone at the end of the month

I'm almost at my 100th post! Its very exciting for me! This is the first forum I've been in this long before

It all varies from phone to phone when it comes to when best buy will get it. One of the reasons why the verizon stores get the phone first is to get a head start in selling their phones first before an authorized retailer will do so. Case in point its very hard to compete with BBY when there are absolutely no mail in rebates so if the Incredible goes for 199.99 the verizon store may have it for that price but after a 50 dollar mail in rebate. Where as in the BBY Mobile store the phone is 199.99 at the time of purchase. BBY Mobile can do almost everything a verizon store can do minus the Verizon VIP program. That is a special program that verizon has that rewards customers. The qualifications are as follows, have a plan that is a minimum of $70 a month, have an auto pay set up every month, and have a good outstanding account with no late payments for a minimum of 6 months. The reward for the customer then is getting a new phone every year for the 2 year upgrade price plus an additional $50 off the phone. For family plans the the primary line is the only eligible line. BBY Mobile does not match that since it is a program offered directly through verizon. I would know this since i am a VIP member and I could not use that discount at my BBY Mobile store i had to go to a verizon store to get the discount when i bought my blackberry tour. You have 30 days to return the phone or exchange it out, you can opt to get the verizon tec insurance plan as well as Best Buys branded insurance plan (i wont get into the details of the pros and cons of each plan). You can also use the reward zone card to tally points as well as use reward zone certificates to purchase the phone. Verizon and Best Buy have an agreement with the pricing and the pricing fluctuates from week to week at Best Buy Mobile, sometimes its a lot cheaper at Best Buy and sometimes its better at Verizon. Plain and simple the big advantage is no mail in rebates PERIOD. Best Buy Mobile can do almost everything a verizon store can do.
Second i can guarantee the photos posted are not photo shopped at all they are real screen shots hence why i took a photo with my phone and did not print out a screen shot and then scanned it because i knew i would hear foul play. If MM source is correct that it is in the planogram on the 25 i will check tom at work and see if it holds water. I am not in any way affiliated with MM but its rather discouraging for me to try and find more information when people cry foul saying its a photo shopped picture and MM basically repeats what i said earlier about the in stock date as well as the availability and then comes out saying he found out earlier about this from his source but yet didnt post any of that information until the photos were leaked.
Ill find out tom if MM source is correct or not
