Help Weather Windmill Live Wallpaper Location Issue

Hello,

I currently am using and love the weather live wallpaper that comes stock on our Galaxy S IIIs. However, I noticed that the wallpaper (powered by accuweather) is displaying that I live in Washington. I currently live in northern virginia, outside Washington DC. (The weather reflects Washington State's weather, not DC's).

Is there any way to change this? I disabled GPS but setting that wallpaper re-enables the wifi location searching. I also have not been able to find an accuweather app or anything where I can manually input my location. I cleared data in weather daemon and it still reset back to Washington State.

Any ideas?

what happens is that you are probably closer to the reporting station in the "wrong" city than your real city.

think of it this way.

you like in a very long rectangular city. more long than tall. now say you live on the western part of the city. and the reporting weather station for the "other" city is closer to you on the west part. meanwhile, the reporting station for your city is all the way to the eastern border.

so what your phone will report is the station from the other city and not your city's.

but as you drive towards the eastern border, eventually if you hover long enough, your phone will report and see the station that is in your city...

make sense?

I can't imagine that this is his problem, considering Northern VA/Washington DC is like 3000 miles away from Washington State ;)

I don't remember which ones, but some weather widgets stopped working with JB and authors usually say that is due to the change in APIs ..

No idea if this is true - but it might explain your issues.

From what I've been reading this seems like the most likely culprit in that it's simply just a bug. It may be detecting my phone as being within DC but when pulling weather it's pulling data for WA.

Actually now that i'm learning more about my phone, I don't think it has to do with the wallpaper at all! My issue is with weather in general. I set up my "briefing alarm" and when it reads me the weather it reads me Washington's weather. I don't know what to do. I'd much rather use the built-in weather features than other apps off the Play Store, simply for their integration with the OS.
