Help How to find a rogue app - battery killer?

Here's a question..how is your signal at home? I know if you're in a poor service zone (for me, at work) your battery drain is a lot higher.

EG: At home, I get good service. I text sometimes and browse the web on occasion. Battery life over 8 hours I lose maybe 20%

At work, I do the same thing, and I lose 51% over the same course of time.

Nothing obvious in the wakelock listings. I will run another test tonight.

As for signal, its usually pretty good at home and I can also get 4g fairly easily. However, Im 99% of the time on Wifi so it shouldnt be an issue. Its definitely an app using the network thats casuing the issue. If I go into airplane mode I can go all day and still be in the 90%'s

Thanks all.

Its improving. I turned off the weather widget for Beautiful Widgets and got 14+ hours and that was with using the phone at a tree-lighting event (taking pics, uploads to facebook, checking email etc).

Today I have to wipe the phone and run RUU so I can take the OTA update. I will let you know if the battery life returns :)

btw the way, have any of you checked the box for "best wifi performance"? (System settings> wifi > menu button, advanced > Best Wi-fi performance). It's another easy place to check for battery drainers.

I forgot to turn that off once, and my phone's battery drained pretty quickly. I wanted to keep wifi on while my screen was off while downloading a big file. Normally the wifi speed is reduced when screen is off.

Good lookout. Mine is unchecked. What is this feature for?
