Root Battery

The standard battery solutions always apply first. Replace swype (it really is a battery *****), keep your brightness on auto save or just lowered, use a cpu app to lower your clockspeed when not in regular use. I use Kanaida's LG Connect Optimizer personally, but you can use Rom Toolbox/SetCPU/ whatever floats your boat. Every little bit helps. If that doesnt help, check and make sure you dont have a battery vampire app aside from Swype.

I agree, you need to lower your clock speed. BP is overclocked by default, which will kill your battery quickly. The problem is that new settings won't stick in BP using most apps. There's a script that most people either deleted or modified to get it to work. I myself used No Frills from the Play Store to get them to stick w/o messing w/any scripts, but I had to go under its settings&tell it to not allow any changes from any other app. I usually under clock at 594MHz max & 192MHz min. I only overclock on the rare occasion when I need to, like when I play a game. That alone gave me a big improvement on battery life.

BP obliterated a full (3850 mAh)battery for me in a matter of a few hours, and charged up to only 50% in 8 hours, which is about as ridiculous as having to under-clock your CPU by 50% when you're not even using your phone.

Use BOC (Check SetCPU, default is 1.5), or use a de-bloated ZVA. I get almost a full day (14+ hrs w/light use) with ZVA and a 3850 mAh battery.

The only reason to over clock ur phone is to maybe play certin 3d type games other than that theres no need for it unless u like to watch ur batt. drain lolol. I keep mine underclocked at just above the mininum 192 or what ever it is with ondemand and deadline as my i/o sceduler and i can use my phone all day and i play angry birds star wars some and watch you tube and check and adjust my fantasy football lineup regualarly and i dont change my cpu settings for any of it and i have the stock batt. that came with the phone i am also on #2 untill shang tsung gets up and running

I've been on broken out now for 8 hours and i still have 45%! Heavy use. Watching videos, playing need for speed, and taking pictures. I love what playful God does but that black plague sucks the life right out of this phone. I have a lg motion, i just got this phone cause i miss modding. Lol. the motion had great battery life, and is a great phone. With the right settings i think this phone is just as good:D:thumbup:

Sounds to me like you have a wakelock that is keeping your phone awake when it should be in a deep sleep. Some apps do not dismiss this wakelock when shutdown. If you can go to your battery use option in settings and click where it shows the time on battery.A graph should open.See if your Awake and Screen on look almost the same.If possible post a screen shot.

Wow!! It's awake 100 times more than the screen is on. How can I remedy this? I bet if I could fix this my battery would last 18 hours or so.

well you have to find whats causing the wake lock.I know a few apps that will cause this off the back of my head like Power amp if the some of the headset options are enabled (disconnect-stop,connect-play) or if the license is not verified it keeps trying.GoSms if you are logged into GoChat.Talk by google(uninstalled)

Another thing try downloading betterbatterstats : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

That better battery stats thing is over my head. Do I just install it and it tells me what is causing the wake locks and how to fix?

you install it and let it run for about an hour or so maybe more. Then open it up and the first drop down menu click on kernel wakelock, the second drop down menu click since unplugged.post a screenshot so i can take a look at it,or see if you can figure it out. Then on the first dropdown menu go to partial wakelocks and do the same thing. You should also check alarms on the drop down menu as well

From much of the experience I have with battery consumption, believe me I know. I been through hell and back getting my battery to last more than 12 hours. I can get it to last sometimes upto 24+hours, with minimal use. One thing I found extremely useful was LOGGING off certain apps and disabling notifications. I downloaded tapatalk to see what might be causing it. Disable notifications in settings and logout, see if that helps.

do me a favor, grab me some screenshots of the kernel wakelocks, partial wakelocks and alarms. All of them from the "since unplugged" option.
I want to see what can be causing it.another thing you can do is use the "dump to file" option by hitting the menu key and then selecting more then dump to file.

everything looks good there,im thinking now that its an alarm issue. That was my problem, took me forever to find it,but NOW i know how to figure it out =D

Just curious,do you have dropbox?an fyi the sync on dropbox causes wakelocks.

back to where I was,an alarm issue is usually caused by an app wanting to notify you of something,a notification basically. There must be some app your using that has a setting for notifications that you are not aware of.Like me and GoChat from GoSms It would autolog me in and then "wait" for ppl to chat with.Gtalk was the same way,i got rid of it.

look under alarms and see what the first thing on the list is.
