[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

Greeting Unicorn Followers,

Team AOKP is still in the process of releasing a 4.2 ROM.

In the meantime, Devs on the team are dropping pre-release builds around the interwebs. Because I must be running a fully 'Unicorn Blessed' ROM, as my job requires that my phone be working all the time, I have not been keeping up with these releases.

As the OP states, this thread is for official releases in terms of what I can follow, flash and support.

If anyone has links they want to share for builds by Steven Spear, Adam the Cashew, or another Unicorn Dev, please post in this thread, with proper credit given. This forum is for sharing and helping each other so I implore you folks to contribute as you see fit.

Lastly, the link in the OP points to the official site of AOKP. Please use it to get your Official AOKP on!

Thank you all,

jmar

I've been compiling my own 4.2 builds for toro and grouper since the code was merged. If anyone would like a build, PM me and I'll provide a link, but I don't think it's quite right to post public builds with code they don't want the public to have yet, unless you're the developer, which I am not :)

Thank you for reaching out to this user base with your offering. It is super valuable.

As for posting your own build, feel free to post in this thread or even start at new one. Either way is fine as long as you give credit to Team AOKP. There are a few KANGS of AOKP on other Forums, so this is not an unheard of practice. I'm sure someone will test your builds...;):D

OK, guys and gals, here it is. But before downloading, understand that I am not a member of Team Kang, nor do I take credit for coding any of this; I am merely an impatient unicorn lover with a Linux computer. Other than a cherry-picking a few things, I haven't done anything but compile AOKP source code. Next, this is a 4.2.1 AOKP build for the Verizon Galaxy Neuxs (toro). I know the part about which device it's for should go without saying, but you can never be too sure. So, being that it is 4.2, unless you have flashed a preview build from one of Team Kang's Twitter accounts, you're probably still on the JB 4.1 Milestone, which means you still have the 4.1 gapps. You cannot use these; you need the new 4.2 gapps located here. Also, wipe. Yes it's a pain, yes I hate it, but if you don't go in to your recovery, wipe data, cache, and dalvik, before flashing this, I can say with 99% confidence, that you will regret it very very much. Lastly, I nor Team Kang are responsible if something wrong happens with your device. Obviously, I will try to help if something does go wrong, which I don't anticipate (if you do a clean flash), being as me and a few friends are running this exact build, but if something does, don't play the blame game please :) . Now that that's done, download and enjoy!!

Nice build. Zippy and fluid.

Thanks for posting this.

I installed this last night. Seems to be running well. I was running Milestone 1 before this. They didn't replace the new terrible horrible Bluetooth stack that Google introduced, however, so I'm not sure how long I'll be able to use this. I use Bluetooth audio in my car and in the gym all the time and the sound is just so bad I don't know if I can suffer through that, just to run 4.2.1. At any rate, I haven't found any bugs thus far. Thumbs up

Yeah, the BT is horrible in 4.2.x. I was trying to listen in a rental car the other night and I gave up and listened to the radio instead. It was terrible.
