I am new owner of a Samsung Note II. I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out this issue. Whenever I type text, a little box will appear above the keyboard with various top level domains (like .com, .gov, .org., or .net). This box will cover the the text as I am typing so I never know whether I am typing something correctly. Please help!

Thanks!

Are you positive you're using the stock Samsung keyboard?
I use it all the time and have never seen what you're talking about.

I'd use stock if it actually captured my regularly used words properly. I've tried adding them to the dictionary, but they still don't work right. Like, "Grama", that's what I call my grandmother, so I put it in my dictionary and still "Gram" comes up. -.-

Or my e-mail address, it won't recognize that.

So I stopped using stock and downloaded Swype beta, which WAS capturing my words and has now stopped for some reason... I can't win.

Strange.

Stock continuous input recognises my surname, but when it comes to my email I have to tap in each letter, but when I get to the letter after the "dot" it offers me my full email address.

I cannot get anything to add to my dictionary. Tried Swype beta, regular, and stock... I carry an iPhone as well and literally have stopped using my note to text until they fix this... Posted a few times about it and nobody seems to be able to answer this for me... Nothing on the swype boards either. I see a lot of people are having the same issue was well.

Some keyboards require an extra step to add to the dictionary. Swype for instance need you to manually type an unknown word. Other keyboards needs you to press twice on the recommended word list twice to add to dictionary. Not sure why you're having so much trouble adding to dictionary.

I have similar frustrations with the stock keyboard... it adds nothing to my dictionary so I can stop typing it all out. I have manually added several words to the dictionary and it still doesn't recognize those.

All that being said I still prefer the stock keyboard. Love the numbers on top and the s-pen integration.

have you tried Ultra keyboard? It's very customizable and you can have numbers at the top. Even resize the keys. :)
