Root [Verizon] Easy VZW Root Guide?

Okay guys. I have experience rooting a previous phone but it was a couple of years ago. I'm no tech wizard, I'm better with hardware than software.

All that being said, now that root has been obtained has anyone put out a good, easy to follow guide, to rooting this beast?

The guides I have seen so far are written by people that are assuming that the reader has way more knowledge than I currently have.

And before you say it... I know.. if you aren't comfortable with this tech stuff you probably have no reason to be messing with rooting your phone. That being said, with previous phones, once I got over the hurdle of the root I was perfectly comfortable loading custom ROMS and making adjustments to my android system and I never bricked a phone.

Thanks for your time and help.

Is there any risk to incrementing the flash counter when you odin? Is there a way to reset the flash counter? Will an incremented flash counter prevent a return/warranty work?

It has been confirmed that all of the flashes we are doing (so far) through Odin do not change your flash counter.

I'd cite a source, but I think it was one of the developers in the XDA forums, so it's kind of hard to pin down exactly where that post is.

Now that we have unlocked the bootloader, the flash counter will start to go up whenever you flash a ROM through that method. For more info, read/watch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043636

Most likely Adam or another developer will implement Triangle Away (a handy little thing that resets your flash counter) when they start rolling out content for us.

From the second post link here:

*This Guide will not trip your flash counter!! Flashing any custom software via odin will infact trip the flash counter!! Thats why I use these methods and the only thing I use odin is for flashing STOCK firmware Only!!!

So, posts are classified as guides, obviously the guide/post won't be able to increment the flash counter.

The second part, flashing via odin (I'm familiar with this from older phones) WILL INFACT TRIP THE FLASH COUNTER.

But it never says that if you flash what's there, if it will increment, I'm guess so, since it's "custom". I'll have to read through the xda thread, it's really long though.
