Tried it with my old firmware. got a quadrant of 6514 or something like that.

It is butter smooth. Can't get the setting for setting on the recent apps button to work though. drag.

So Rx, How do you feel this compares with the cm10 you have been running? Favorable?

I am hoping and expecting that you can restore a nand now with this new h boot. have you tried that yet?

I haven't, but I don't see that being an issue. With S-off I should have access to everything. I could also just flash an old h-boot if it gave me troubles.

I think this compares very favorably to cm10. Its hard to tell because this thing hasnt had a few days to "settle in" but fresh out of the box its speedy and smooth. This is honestly how the phone should have shipped. I will be staying on this for the time being. I don't have any impulses to flash cm10 yet. Project butter + Google now+ sense camera = a happy rx

Well, I tried flashing the rom uploaded by Viperboy to no avail. I'm just gonna take the plunge and accept with the OTA with root.

What is happening when you flash it?

I would NOT suggest accepting the OTA. It will only work under a very strict set of circumstances.

So. then too, when the devs inevitably get a hold of and improve it, turning off the Tell HTC and getting rid of the red writing and whatever other imaginative things they come up with, you should be able to flash them too...

Hmm, really wondering what would be the downside of just taking this ota?
I'm aghast! So contrary to all I have seen and learned!

The first few times I would just get errors(I'm using TWRP 2.1.8). I tried the unmount cache fix, then it would go through some of the process, and randomly reboot to recovery.

I think you can do it through the bootloader, how i did it the first time, other than that, restore a nand, install goo manager and let it put it on for you, How I have done it the last few times. easy peasy, light and breezy!

I'm trying to update my firmware, but I can't find a link to the 3.15.651.16 RUU. I tried the link below from XDA, but it says the zip is corrupted.

Since I'm S-ON, I know I need to re-lock and unroot, which isn't a problem, the problem is not being able to find the updated RUU. Is there an easier way?

You can't update through bootloader if your s-on, and the ruu hasn't been released yet
