Hi I've read through a few posts but can't seem to solve my problem.

My WiFi router is a sky netgear (white one) and my phone will not always stay connected, the WiFi symbol at the top will say I have full signal but when I try to search on the net it will state that I need to check my network. If I turn the WiFi off and on again it will connect. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the router or the phone. Any help would be good.

I have always had the problem too, even on my old DX. If you go to settings>wifi then turn it off for a sec and then slide it back to the on position, that does the trick for me. Ive tried different apps that supposedly fix the issue (wififixer) but not much luck. Funny because i have a netgear router too, and if i had to guess, some routers just dont mesh well with certain phones.

I have an older model Linksys Wireless G router and I too starting having exactly the same issue after upgrading my GS3 (AT&T) to JB. If I turned the wifi off and on, it would connect for a few seconds and then disconnect again even though the signal strength was indicated as maximum. If I tried to connect again without turning the wifi off/on, it would give an error saying it couldn't connect. One thing that seems to have helped though is running the Wifi High Performance app with the Linksys added to the apps whitelist.

I was having a similar problem, had the Wi-Fi symbol up and a good connection to the modem
but had no connection to the net. I ended up setting a Static Address on the phone, and no more problem.

Settings
Wi-Fi Press and hold the connected one, if existing connection "modify network config
go to this step if a new connection.
Tick Show advanced options/IP settings change it to static
If modifying use the address that's there if new connection look in your modem setting for a new IP

Hope that helps

Have you tried disabling wifi power save?

Go to dialer press *#0011# press menu key select wifi, turn off wifi power saving, then reboot. Also try connecting only to 2.4ghz networks since the s3 has a better connection with them.

I was having a similar issue. I called Verizon Technical Support and I was told that there is an existing issue with NetGear routers.

I was having the same issue with my phone, but I have a Belkin. I was told that JB is supposed to fix a lot of the wifi issues. After updating to JB, I was actually having the same problem. Technical Support opted to send out a new phone to see if that would fix the problem.
