hi all,

my old desire has been transformed in to my new desire touch pmp
who needs an ipod touch

using app called Power amp, and have a 32g card on order

my sony walkman a845 was out of space ....and has rubbish play/shuffle options

power amp has very good play feature

I'm considering getting the Nexus 4 and am loathed to get rid of my beloved Desire, not sure I have a family member that could love and care for it so may go the route of using it as mp3 player or sat nav

What is the average playback time that you are getting out of it? Music/Video??

Hi.
not done any serious stats checks on it, but listening
to it for hour a night seems to be very light on battery.
but that is just music,but video

I love the shuffling on it

What set up are you running Dan, are you keeping some other apps one there as well? Also I assume you can still use wifi on it without a sim? I would seriously consider this as long as I can a) get my plays to 'scrobble' to last.fm and b) fit all my music I want to carry around on a 32GB micro SD card!

Hi,
dGB I pretty much keep everything off. just stick Wi-Fi on
to update an app if I need too.
so just power amp and file explorer

Hmm OK cheers, I don't suppose the extra MB in system can be used to store a few additional tracks? The only thing that will stop me is the 32GB limit but I only have an additional 4 on my current mp3 player so could probably manage

32 is the max i think.. It should be enough imo and if needed one can always have two cards But I don't think the battery would last more than a continuous playback of 32gb

Well I meant the limit of the SD card I own which is 32GB, my mp3 player is a Sansa E200 4GB but running RockBox (replacement firmware - sound familiar ) which enables me to use up to a 32GB card.

I know 64GB cards are available now, no support by RockBox at this time and no idea if the Desire can handle one.

Indeed. Well I'm pretty much 100% on going for the Nexus 4 so will have to decide whether I sell my Desire, pass it on or keep it as a mp3 player or even Sat nav (would be a pain without data BUT could use offline maps )

got another redundant desire here too now,was a great reliable phone , moved on to a galaxy s2 , heading over to read up on how to root it

Headlight bulb in the car needed replaced the other night , batteries in torch were done , so the faithful old desires flashlight came in very handy

just listening to a certain track that came up on shuffle and it sounded slightly distorted - so i copied it on to my s3 and tried it on that, and it sounded super clear .......mmmm :/
played it back on desire, and yes, at specific points in the track the play back sounds a bit 'dirty' (and not in a good way )

so assume that the digital to analogue conversion on s3 is better than ol' desire ?

hi Ducky,

loving the s3 - awesome phone imo - obviosly i had to flash it after a few weeks
i was trying to resist, but the draw was too much
easier to flash than desire - now running Wanamlite 5.2 which is JB 4.1.2 with multi screen
