What keyboard do you use?

Based upon posts here I tried Keypurr and ICS and I'm back with the good old multi touch stock keyboard. I like the large size of the Keypurr keys, especially in portrait, but there were several times when it refused to let me type in a special word that it didn't know about so I stopped using it. I tried ICS and didn't see much difference between it and stock so I went back to stock, especially since stock had already learned most of my special words. Maybe I should have given Keypurr more time but I am impatient and couldn't easily figure it out after reading the docs. Based upon responses here I'm gona give Swype another try, not sure if it has changed much since I first used it on my DX.

All of these choices is the main reason I love Android over the iPhone, which I used to own. With so many choices it is sometimes hard to pick a favorite but it makes it easier for future releases to incorporate the best features from the many flavors available.

I am all about updating and editing my phone. I have tried most launchers and I use Go launcher EX (love) and then i started updating my texting. Tried both Go sms and Handcent sms LOVE LOVE LOVE Handcent sms. hands down. if you text, you need handcent sms. then I started editing my keyboard even though my texting was cute why not have a cute keyboard to type on.....
I tried swiftkey or whatever it was and all those versions are trials for like a month, of 15 days. I DID NOT want a trial. SOOOO i tried GO KEYBOARD.

IT IS AWESOME!!!!
anywhere you type, facebook, google, twitter, search, anywhere on ur go keyboard is always the one it uses and I have a pink skin downloaded So i always see my cute pink keyboard!

HERE ARE THE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT GO KEYBOARD:
when you hit delete it deletes sooooo quick not one word at a time
it types quick doesnt freeze or slow down anything
auto punctuates and like if you say whats it automatically puts "what's"
comes with so many super cute smileys and hearts and icons i never knew where people could use and find those cool things!
its FREE , no trial versions or anything
lots of cute skins to download and make the keyboard cute
I will keep go keyboard even if i didnt have cute skins because its seriously just awesome. =)

go keyboard - try it- you wont be dissapointed!

you're missing out! Hope I helped

How are you liking it? What are the differences compared to SwiftKey 3?

It's pretty good, builds on some of the things Swype just did not do well (word prediction). I never used regular SwiftKey 3 - I tried it for a little bit but I was already very used to Swype and couldn't get away from that.

However, just today in another discussion someone mentioned a new program called Kii. Still in beta so all the premium things are working (like customization) and we may have a winner here folks. I'm able to do all sorts of neat things like customize the keyboard for smaller keys and move them to one side or the other which is great for single thumb texters like me.

I'm really digging this program so far. Going to give it a real good test drive here but so far I'm digging every aspect of it!

I know this is NOT the type of keyboard asked about here in this thread, but I had to share how much I LOVE this little BT keyboard I recently bought. First of all, I don't text with thumbs or peck around with my fingers anymore than I absolutely HAVE to! I'm 53. Have enough to stress over to try to learn to text ;) So voice recognition it is. That's better but far from perfect. I have to redo the voice and fix some things by typing. I like telephones!

The other day I was online looking for an illuminated and wireless keyboard for my desktop. What I found was the Logitech K810 illuminated, BT mini keyboard. It's about 11'x5" and 1/4" thick. Laser etched keypads that have 4 illuminating settings but also auto illuminates and dims. Can pair with 3 different BT devices at the touch of a button. The print screen button takes a screen snapshot of my Droid. I has customizable function keys, calculator key and more. I've used it with my phone, desktop and laptop. Will have a tablet in a couple months. Laid in bed the other night, phone propped up on kickstand and texted a "novel" (according to my daughter) (lol) in no time using the K810 keyboard. I would have never attempted a text like that even using voice recognition. Specifically made for Windows 8. Works with my Win 7 Dell.

It's not cheap :( It's $100 at BB. B&H Photo had it for $80. BB matched their price and I had a $21 in store credit. That made it affordable (for me).

Switching made simple

I've used both Swype and SwiftKey extensively, and liked both. I landed on SwiftKey for a long time due to the excellent prediction because typing just 2-3 characters per word saved more time than even swiping. I LOVED the SwiftKey Flow Beta until it expired...anyone find a way around that?.

Now I'm using the new Swype Beta (works on my Maxx, but unfortunately not on my rooted/JB Kindle Fire). The swiping action is solid, and the prediction is much better than before, but still not quite up to SwiftKey. The layout of Swype Beta isn't quite as intuitive, either, but maybe I'm just conditioned to the SwiftKey layout. Either is workable, though, and I'm looking forward to full versions of both.
