Jelly Bean firmware unofficial release

Did you try as previously mentioned?

Go into app drawer, then press the left hand button to left of Home button to get to settings, then choose the edit option and then drag new apps to or from the dock..

Thank you, it worked now, but not by moving the icon to the recycle bin as we usually do with any other icon on the top part of any screen, but by moving the icon up to the other big group of icons.

Hi

I'm getting a little frustrated with waiting for O2 to release the official update via Kies.

If I decide to load this non-O2 version of JB, will it wipe out the O2 specific settings e.g. MMS etc. ?

If so how would I retrieve them ?

PHONE: I9100PXXLPC

CSC: I9100PO2ULP4

thanks

The JB release in post #1 is an unbranded European version and so you will lose all the O2, "bloatware", and add-on's.

Whilst this is billed as a, "No wipe", update and quite a few people have flashed it without any problems, I would always advise doing a clean, vanilla, install when changing OS. See, here.

I can't see the firmware in the list (via the link at beginning of thread) ...

**EDIT Found it (hadn't registered) **

Ironass, any news about XXLST? It's another test build accdg to Samsung Updates(Facebook and Twitter).

No, unofficial, official release for it yet, (if you get what I mean), but I would expect to see lots more, "leak", builds as various locations and carriers start work on JB. I notice that the custom NEAT ROM has released a build, XXELL5, privately to donators in the last 12 hours. Quite what position this holds in the release/build list, when compared to XXLSJ, is anybody's guess!

SCPadgeebar[/B];5365235]XXELL5 is GT-I9300 Firmware right? And not GT-I9100.

SCPadgeebar wins the Android Forums, "Spot the deliberate error", Christmas competition!!!

OK... the truth is that I've consumed far too much alcohol and am only on my second coffee of the day!

(Hawker will not let me live this one down! ;) )

Phew - yes just discovered that !

How do I get a working firmware/software download ?

Also, is this JB update OK for NFC-enabled S2's (I read somewhere that the update for these was being held back) ?

you can try this

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994313

NFC can be re-enabled , there are a number of threads around showing how to do it

Personally ill just wait for the official release now, it should only be a few weeks away

As it states in post #1...

A leaked version of the official Samsung, stock, Jelly Bean, Android 4.1.2, firmware is now available from SamMobile for the GT-i9100, International version.

If you flash this on a, "P", variant, you will lose NFC.

PS I thought that the phone automatically downloads my apps from Play after a rest like this (via registered gmail account) - this hasn't happened.

Do I need to do this manually ? If can I find a list somewhere or do I have to remember them ?

Go to play store, view my apps on phone, default list will show as those installed, scroll along the top to all and this will show you all the apps you have downloaded on your account, reselect those you want to reinstall
