Anyone port their number from Virgin Mobile USA?

My brother ported to T-Mobile from VM. It took him 2 or 3 days and a lot of time on the phone with VM. It was a hassle, to say the least.

It just takes awhile for them to release the number and he was going out of town so he was trying to speed the process up before he left. That way he wouldn't have to take both phones with him.

T-Mobile CSR said the whole process is going smoothly and said VM fully released my number without a hiccup and my number is partially ported over. I think he said it takes a bit longer to port it to T-Mobile prepaid and that it's scheduled to be fully activated Friday December 21st at around 7pm. So, 3 days after I activated online. Good Lord.

Anyone have experience with porting a T-Mobile number to Straight Talk? Should I still expect ~3 days?

From everything I've heard from Walmarts connection center they are usually good about doing it pretty fast.

Sheesh 3 days that's crazy. I ported my number from T-Mo to Virgin in like an hour when I activated last year.

I put in a request for activation/number transfer from T-Mobile to Straight Talk online. Waited 6 hours and nothing so I called Straight Talk and got it activated within 20 minutes of making the call. I think the moral of the stories here is that calling seems to speed up the process considerably.

I called the next day and he said the system is transferring it over automatically tomorrow night at around 7.
