Which extended battery? Heavy-duty protective case for extended back cover?

Two questions:

1. I am looking at four different extended batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S3:

Hyperion 4200mAh

QCell 4200mAh

Anker 4400mAh

Onite 4500mAh

If you have used or are using one or more of the four extended batteries, which one would you recommend? Specifically, I have the MetroPCS model of Samsung Galaxy S3. I assume all four extended batteries would fit the MetroPCS model.

My preference is Anker. I bought a ThinkPad extended battery from Anker in 2010, and had to call the company's customer support to resolve a problem. I had a good experience with the customer support. However, I am open to another brand.

2. I am also looking for a heavy-duty protective case that would fit a Samsung Galaxy S3 fitted with an extended battery back cover. I prefer a multiple-layered protective case, e.g., one that has an exterior hard-plastic shell and an interior soft TPU skin, (like this Trident case, which does not fit a phone with an extended battery back cover; I am looking for one that does.)

Would this OtterBox Defender fit a Samsung Galaxy S3 with an extended battery back cover? (This customer review suggests that it would.) If it does not, could you recommend a heavy-duty, multiple-layered protective case that would?

Thanks.

Gorilla Gadgets 4500 or Hyperion 4200 battery.
Which of the two is better?

Have you noticed a difference in performance for the 300 additional mAh of Gorilla Gadgets?

(Gorilla Gadgets 4500 costs $10 more than Anker 4400 for an additional 100 mAh. Hm.)

Seido extended back cover and case.
Seido extended back cover and case with kickstand.
What is the model name? Is there a link to the product?

Would the back cover that comes with a Gorilla Gadgets 4500 mAh extended battery fit into the Seidio Active Extended Case?

If I already had another extended batter from Gorilla Gadgets or Anker, I would not want to buy an overpriced Seidio Innocell 3500 mAh battery (which I would never use) just to get and use its back cover to use with another extended battery.

I came across some 5,500 mAh extended battery for Samsung Galaxy S3 on eBay... but they are sold and shipped from Hong Kong and China. Are they legit?

Here's another one from HONG KONG on eBay,if you're interested.

Although the link shows that the listing has ended,if you search on the eBay application, it still shows the listing as active.

But how does it work?

I bought extended batteries for my earlier phones from Hong Kong/China before. At first, they worked great. But usually after a few months, the batteries began to discharge very quickly. Basically, they had very short lifespan.

Also, I need one with WHITE back plate.

UPDATE: Found the 6000 mAh with a white plate back plate at the manufacturer's website.

I don't have the 6000 mAh battery,I just happened to come across it about a week ago.

FWIW,I have a MUGEN 4600 & GORILLA GADGETS 4500 & both are awesome batteries that I recommend.
A generic battery isn't inherently a bad battery to get, regardless of place of manufacture.
I'd probably take a chance on the 6000 mAh battery as it's only $30,but since I've got the MUGEN & GORILLA GADGETS batteries, not to mention the MOPHIE 2300 BATTERY CASE,I'm set on batteries.
Perhaps my curiosity will get the best of me in the near future & if so,I'll post my results,as a 6000 mAh battery that's anywhere near the stated capacity, would be the one to get.

Seido Active EXTENDED Case for Samsung Galaxy SIII.

So will the Anker 4200 fit inside this case with no modification?

Also, any word on the Samsung 3000mah battery?

I personally can't wait for these to become available. I want to give it a try. I think the 3000 will be the sweetspot for me.

I have tried the Hyperion and it was a very good battery. Just a hair too much bulk added for me though.

Apparently no.

The back plate of the Hyperion, Anker, Gorilla Gadgets or another extended battery would NOT fit into the Seidio Active Extended Case. Seidio Extended Case works only with the back plate of Seidio Innocell 3500 battery, (which is ridiculously overpriced at $60 to $70.) Seidio's back plate is shaped differently from the back plate for other brands.

However, the extended battery of Hyperion, Anker or Gorilla Gadgets would fit into the Seidio Innocell 3500 extended battery. But I would suggest you to spend $70 to buy the overpriced, underpowered battery just to get the back plate, so you can use the back plate with another extended battery and the Active extended case.

Some users suggested NOT using a back plate with an extended battery: i.e., just do not put on the back plate, and use a piece of shock-absorbing/impact-resistant foam in place of a back plate; and then put on the Seidio Active extended case over the foam.

P.S. The 5500 mAh extended battery being sold on eBay comes with a back plate that has a similar shape to the Seidio Innocell 3500 back plate, with minor differences, from I could see from the pictures. Maybe that one would work.

.

Hey man, I haven't read the entire thread, but wanted to mention I have a 4500MAh Gorilla gadget Battery, and though my phone is white, I would recommend not getting a white battery cover. It looks so much better with a different color cover. I picked Blue I think, but it looks like a nice bluish grey, that doesn't get finger prints.

That's the great thing about having the white phone. Any color Battery cover looks great and enhances the look.

I took some photo's for this other thread. They are not great, but u get the idea.
