Just so that everyone running a home other than sense knows, sense is always loaded, and will run in the background regardless of whether it is set as you default or not. But, after a little bit of time, sense will go stop running in the background and go idle, which means it shouldn't be using up as much memory and shouldn't be using any processor resources.

Unless your rooted. Then you can do pretty much what ever you want :)

the non permanent method is to go into manage applications and force stop while helix is running or it will prompt you on which to open when you exit settings which you wont be able to do with the back button if thats the case.

I'm with you on the jumping on the leak. I had the first one the night it was posted. I have no patience. Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently disable or remove sense without root. As long as you don't use it, it seems to go from running in the background to idle rather quickly. One thing you don't want to do is kill it with a task killer, because it will just reload itself after a few minutes which just starts the whole process over again.

since closing sense a few minutes ago my available internal memory according to my task killer has jumped from about 81M after killing all apps to now 102M and my phone SEEMS to be running faster. i closed it about 10 minutes ago going in through settings>applications>manage applications and its still not running again.
for some reason sense doesnt show up on my task killer.

I don't believe it will. because its a service or whatever.

thats what i thought but someone mentioned trying to close it with a taskiller. doesnt makes sense though as that would be like getting on a windows computer and closing the windows component of it.

been around 15 minutes at least and its still not back up. looks like it should stay down until i restart my phone, which for me is very rarely. so yay! more speed :)
