Android Phone 7 Theme

I read and re-read and re-read this thread and I am just completely lost. I have an HTC Rezound. Could someone just point me in the direction to get started in? This is an amazing theme and I'd love to have it. I basically have Desktop Visualizer installed and LauncherPro Plus installed. I also installed a few of the 480x800 Blue Widget APK packs but have no clue what to do at this point. Any help would be much appreciated. Like even just a super generic step by step, so I at least know what order I'm supposed to be doing this in.

First things first, Page-1/Post-1 lists the processes to create image widgets and place them using Desktop Visualizer.

Second- I can no longer vouch for LauncherPro or ADW Launcher. Both have been abandoned by the developers and, at least for ADW, don't work well with ICS.

I have a Rezound now as well, and after the ICS update I ditched ADW due to several bugs and incompatibilities and now use Nova Launcher (TeslaCoil has always been updating their awesome apps and I'm glad they finally made a launcher).

I have streamlined my layout a bit, consolidating to only three screens:

Using Nova Launcher with a 4-column 6-row layout on my Rezound, here are all of the icons I used in the above images:

Rezound Tiles Images for Nova Launcher

Hope this helps!

I was wondering if anyone has tried with a droid razr? 960x540 using apex launcher. no status bar, no dock.

If no one else has info on this, do the test from the post above.

Just a note, I tried using Apex Launcher on my Rezound and it wouldn't create a layout with even spacing until hitting 6-columns x 10-rows, which made everything too small to make the icons useful. I ended up using Nova Launcher instead (even though I liked the app drawer for Apex better), which makes everything line up perfectly. I also just started to use Holo Launcher HD on my Galaxy Tab, which seems to work well and spaces widgets evenly.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying! I tried Nova Launcher but it bothers me that I cant use gestures without the paid version. I will try to get over it and work on posting the test.

I see many posts talking about image size and I found a nice information on Desktop Visualizer:

Just scroll down and you can see the widget info, I use information of Normal size to create perfect size images for my favorite Launcher.

If you chose Go Launcher and modify you grid size this information change, so you dont need to calculate manual the size. Just check widget info and create your imagen with information size.

Can't believe I didn't notice this. Must have been with the last update.

Thanks for the info!

I did test this on my Galaxy Tab and it appeared to show the correct image sizes, but I do have a question:

The screenshot of your desktop show that the images don't line up perfectly. It could definitely be a problem with GoLauncher, but I just want to make sure that this is a definitive solution before suggesting it to everyone (I'm planning on re-vamping the original post with updated info and want to make sure it's correct).

Hi Paulmz,
My icons don't line up perfectly because I reduced in photoshop to add drop shadow.

Look this Print screen I have made to you see.

thank you for this!

i have the galaxy s3 and some of the old files, the resolution is too low and doesn't look good.

So this is awesome.

Are you still using this theme on your phone?

I thought I checked and I didn't see any, but are there new icon sizes for phones with 1280x720, or my nexus 800x1280 resolution?

thanks!

Yeah, I'm still sporting the Android7 theme. I can't seem to get away from it. No matter how much I constantly rearrange stupid icons and ugly widgets on my tablet, I continue to love the look of all of these boxy images on my phone.

The images I posted, which you quoted, are from my most recent Android7 project on my HTC Rezound, which has a resolution of 720px x 1280px. The same post has links right at the bottom for the widget images that I used. I will not be making a full collection of images - I don't need them with only three home screens and I just don't have the time.

If you need information on making images for the widgets, let me know. It is actually fairly simple... it just takes time to search for images and create your layout.

Glad you like the look. Be sure to post images of your desktop after you get it set up!
