Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Where was it I found those pink, yellow, red and blue themes for this ROM? After partitioning, I lost that file. :-(
Someone please link me. I searched for hours with no luck.

It is under themes J6s being updated by Cwhatever!

Any ideas on why I can't install apps from sd card? I've tried straight from file manager, and from App Backup & Restore. I get to the part where you have two buttons, install and cancel. The install button isn't clickable but cancel is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and installing from the app store works, upgraded file manager when this was happening, then tried to install again after the update and same thing.

Did you enable installation of apps from unknown sources?

Menu> settings> applications> unknown sources

Of course, I even unchecked it then re-checked it just to make sure something hadn't screwed up. I already have most of my programs that I want installed on the phone. It's just a couple of things left that I was waiting to install, that won't. I was waiting to install them, so I could get a feel for how this rom was going to act/feel. Much happier with this one, than the last, so I was gonna finish installing everything, but now it won't let me.

Hi Hellboy,

you could try to copy the app you want from the "Apps Backup & Restore" folder to the root of your sd-card and then manually click on it and see if that makes a difference......

What apps are they? Were they system apps when you backed them up? Knowing what ones are being problematic may help with why they won't install.

Actually any app, that I've tried hasn't worked, I'll give you a short list tho, and no, none are system apps.

delete your current CT zip and download it again
flash the new zip
boot up and set your mode in Kernel settings again
reboot
make sure unknown sources is checked in settings

open the File Explorer and press on APKs
press on the app
there will be a pop-up, check Use by default and select Package installer
now you just hit Install

if it still doesn't work something is either wrong with your sdcard or the apk's your trying to use.

Hmmmm.. And you backed them up using the app you mentioned? Any chance the app is preventing the install because of the ROM change? Can't you redownload them from the market?

As a test, try this:

This is wifi tether for root users. Dl it and see if it will install from your sd, if so then something is wrong with the backups you made

Probably going to do a reinstall of the rom, already have wifi tether for root users installed, and that was a backup as well. All the other backups worked fine, just now they don't want to install. Oh well. I guess I'll just do everything at once from a fresh install and get it over with now. Especially since I've had no problems with this rom except for this.

This build of CTMod is easily the best ROM I've ever used so I'd really like to be able to customize the theme exactly how I want it.

Hi, this is my first post on this site. I just wanna say thanks to the creator for this creation! I also have a couple questions.

When I install the CTMod, it works great for about a week or two. Very fast and everything works very well. After a week or so of use however, certain things slow down and makes using the phone very painful. The Phone won't dail for 30 seconds when i hit the button (if it dials at all) and txt and many other features become very slow. I have went through the entire process a few times, and each new install works great, but eventually always slows down. Any ideas? I'd appreciate it very much.

My last question has to do with the app menu. CTMod scrolls left/right through pages of apps. I was wondering if theres any way to switch from left/right to up/down scrolling. No big deal but being able to go all the way to the end of the list with a quick flick was always kinda fun lol

I'd appreciate any help, and thanks again for the awesome rom!

For the scrolling, I use zeam and you can pick either way. In Xperia I don't think you can change to up and down.

Are you using 3.75 or 3.75.2? As for running slow might have something to do with what you install and how you configure things and apps? You Should try again and load no apps or tweak anything and see what happens after a week or so. If good then must be something you add or do to phone. If that is the answer would have to add 5 things and use for a week and keep doing until phone messes up. Don't know what to tell you seeing most everyone has not had any problems since update.

You may find out and maybe not, but a place to start. Zeam you can scroll up/down or left/right, is pretty fast too, been using for a while myself.

Question. How do I replace the stock messenger app with chomp SMS app? Is it as easy as copying Chomp to system/app folder and deleting messenger stock app? Or is that a bad idea? I'd also like to replace xperia launcher with go launcher if possible ...but before I destroy this glorious Prevail, I would like some experienced input ...

Hey wanted to throw out a thanks to Blood on this one I was having alot of buggy things on 3.75 (such as fc on voltage control) random reboots on anything other than performance gov and even sometimes on that and a host of other crap tried alot of things to fix it wipe, reflash, redownload, odin sd wipe ect... since i have dl 3.75.2 I have had a perfect running prevail overclocking on all govs and i/o running great and ive never had beter benchmarks and speed test im now getting averge 1800kbps d/l 750u/l loving it thanks for a great rom and thanks to kouma hroark and all others who made it possible i know theres a shitload of work in this and i love it!!! im learing basic programming myself now so i barely have an understanding of what all is involved.

Just download the launcher and then select it by hitting the home button and check the use by default box. Then have to reconfigure home screen and stuff again.
As for the messanger just do the same, install one and use as default or even use titanium to delete the system app and might even be able to make the new one a system app too with titanium.

So freezing the stock launcher and messenger won't hurt anything? I love xperias 4 corner dock bars but go launcher is much more customization friendly, and the same with chomp. I just wanna make sure freezing or deleting stock apps won't cause this thing to quit receiving messages or launching. I don't see why it would but just making sure. If I deleted those two stock apps and replaced them with the apks I wanted in the system/apps folder, would they not automatically open when booting and run as the stock replacement apps?

You just need to load a new app before deleting the stock one. You can freeze the stock app first and use the new one and if a problem just unfreeze the stock and if no problem then just delete the stock one. You should have no problem with those. Some other important ones you might not be able to do. Phone, messaging, launcher, keyboard, music, ect... can be done with no problem. Just remember to load new one first.
