Help Stock Email jellybean 4.12

Hello I just bought a galaxy note 2 from at&t. I am usingthe stock email app. I cannot seem to figure out how to make subfolders in email? Thanks in advance

In the email program go into settings, folders. There's a + in the upper right corner.

Hmmm. I'm on Verizon but you would think that would be the same. Here is what my email settings look like.

I misunderstood, found folders but no plus ib the upper right corner.

This is my gmail account which I set up using exchange settings. If I click on folders, I get this option to add one.

I wonder if it has to do with the type of account. POP vs IMAP vs exchange. I don't think POP syncs folders like IMAP and exchange do.

It seems comcast blocks folder creation because the plus appears with my Gmail. Talking with comcast atm

I'm on AT&T & my e-mail -> settings -> folders section does have the + (plus) to add folders ...

Its something with comcast email accounts

Spent an hour arguing with comcast. There email does not support folders on mobile. Thanks for all the help.

Since you also have a gmail account, I would just use IMAP on gmail to pull your comcast email into your gmail account. That way you can just set up gmail on your Note II and create folders on your gmail account.

That's what I do with Yahoo and Live Mail. Works fine.

No. You set it up on your PC in your gmail account settings. Then when you sign into your gmail account on your phone, those accounts will be included in your mailbox.

The bad news, I don't think Comcast has IMAP. You can still get you email via POP settings, but that won't give you the folders. I just did a search for Comcast IMAP settings and am finding they don't support it.

I am using the stock email, verizon yahoo account (pop) and there is no option to add a folder.

every time i try and set up a gmail accoung i get the error "cannot connect to server" ???

You have to set it up using IMAP, not POP to get all your folders. Do a google search for those IMAP settings then on your PC go to gmail settings and add it as an IMAP account where it says "get mail from other accounts" or something like that.

You can set up filters to move them.

Yeah that's what I did with my home business. I have 5 email addresses for my home business hosted on a mail server. They are like orders@mybusinessname.com, questions@mybusinessname.com, myname@mybusinessname.com, etc...

And in gmail, I setup pop3 pulls for all 5 emails, and created 5 folders (orders, questions, etc...) on gmail and filters to auto move them to the assigned folders. It is very easy to setup. And I can see all my emails from any computer or phone.
