Help Moment 2.1 Update Thread

Yes. Try Down Vol End Call/Power than Camera button and hold until it boots to get into Download mode... Recovery Mode is Down Vol Phone Button and (hold this button last)Power/End Call Button and Hold them down all the way through the boot cycle (than you should see the blue recovery mode--hit the middle button(trackball)to 'reboot now' If you can't do that you probably don't have CL14 update(or you are doing something wrong)Hope this helps...

Yes it seems that most of the problems are gone(I have none/zero/nada). Yes it is faster... and I am still not rooted...just trying to report what it is like to be a normal user

No MLB at bat 2010

Agreed no root here. I am considering rooting in the future but right now 2.1 is running nice and has some nice changes. I hope only more are to come.

This thread is in itself hypocritical...

While we are on the topic of stupid thread BS, I have a serious question that I want to throw out there. It may sound sarcastic but its really not meant to be. Lol

But why is it that so many times the FIRST person to leave a reply in a open thread they feel the need to "quote" the OP? LOL Do they really think that people may get confused and think the reply was meant for someone else?

Anyway, just something I have noticed, not just on these boards either. It happens a lot on all the forums I visit.

x2! I also think alot of the rooting of 2.1 stuff needs to be moved the the root forum though! It is awesome we have the leaked version. Alot of root stuff is being discussed though in the regular threads. That can be moved or some of these merged.

its good to know im not the only one who thinks their are too many 2.1 threads. my room isn't messy nor immaculate but presentable. this forum is getting a little too messy.

I have no idea what you are talking about:rolleyes:... *edits post*

Haha, that's a good point. I guess hitting reply is just a dirty habit of mine. I never learned formal forum etiquette:p /sarcasm

Could someone running 2.1 do me a quick favor please? See if the official USAA bank app is in the market? This is something I really want to use and it might be stupid but looking forward to 2.1 the most (only runs 1.6 and higher). If it's there I think I'm going to take the plunge, if it's not I'll probably just wait around.

Thanks

lol I restarted my phone to test cl14 root enabler and i'm back at 60%

edit: duratime - Did you put the lib files and the live wallpaper apk in? I know dumb question. The helix launcher has nothing to do with the live wallpapers, its the files we implemented.
Nope. I'm not sure how to do that. I thought it was part of Helux, oh well. Thanks for the response.

Yeah if you go over to here http://www.sdx-developers.com/index.php?topic=1480.0 there's a walkthrough to enabling the live wallpapers.

When I downloaded 2.1, I'm not sure I got the one with Joey's recovery thing on it, and I don't know how to tell if I did. If I didn't, I don't want to wipe my phone again to add it. I'm not even sure if it would wipe my phone to add it. The next time I'm going to wipe my phone will be the "official" update (assuming the good people at SDX, give me a reason to skip the official update). Thanks

Hey, man I am trying to help YOU out. Well, I was just covering BOTH bases--so do you have CL14 or not(because before you said you didn't)?

If you don't have CL14 you won't have the Sprint Recovery Mode. And you won't be able to use the update zip feature unless you have actually put CL14 in a zip or 2.1 in zip on your Micro SDcard. So the easiest way to update up to 2.1 or down to 1.5 CL14 is to use the Sprint Update Utility that is downloaded from Sprint...I hope this clears things up for you and you get it all figured out.

To find out if you have CL14 go to Menu button> settings>about phone>and in there it should say CL14 if you see CJ05 you don't have the latest software update... Also make sure you are not touching the camera or voice control buttons and you hold down the buttons all the way through the loading screen or you won't be able to get to recovery mode.

Good Luck

When you boot up the phone does it show a sdx logo if yes then you got joey's recovery, if not then you got stock. You can still get root with stock and apply the live wallpapers, just will take a bit longer to achieve.

Dammit! I used to have that on log in (using Joey's kernel before), I'd feel better knowing that some SDX know how exists in my phone. Is there a way to add that without wiping the phone? If not, I'll just wait for the official version or the newest SDX version if one exists. I really like how my phone is set up right now, It's going to be really hard for me to wipe it. I really appreciate your responses.
